Are we muslims are allowed to celebrate birthdays?

Are we muslims are allowed to celebrate birthdays?

No! Because this is an Bidat-innovation- when we add things in deen which Allah swt did not allow us to do or the prophet Muhammad pbuh.

Jabir bin Abdullah ra relates that the messenger of Allah (saw) stated: After praise and eulogy. Verily the most truthful statement is the book of Allah and the exemplary guidance is that of the Messenger of
Allah, and the worst deed is to introduce anything new in the religion and every innovation will make you go astray. Muslim

One who starts an innovation will not only bear the retribution of his own sin but also of all those people who are acting upon the innovation.

Sufyan thauri rahmatullah states: Shatan likes innovation more than other sins because one can repent for the sins, but people do not repent for committing innovation. Sharh us sunnah vol1, p.216

Fudhail bin Ayyadh rahmatullah related: when you see an innovator coming towards you, leave the route and adopt another route. No deed of an innovator is acceptable to Allah swt. Whoever helps an innovator it is an if he has helped in destroying the religion. Khasais Ahle Sunnah p.22

So now we need to think.. Do we want to please shaytan by celebrating birthdays, anniversary, mothers-day, Fathers day, halloween etc... We need to please Allah and make him happy with us indeed we will return to him...

We dont need to wait for these days to come so we can give gift make our loved one happy we should give gifts generally...
