Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about sea water. He said, “Its water is pure and its dead animals are lawful to eat.”

Al-Bayhaqi said, “Water is pure unless an impurity is added to it that changes its smell, taste, or color.”
