Putting a chewed sweet morsel like dates in the mouth of the new born (Tahneek): It is narrated on the authority of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him)that he said: A boy was born to me and I took him to the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa salam. He named him Ibrahim and did tahneek on him with a date and prayed for his blessing.[Agreed upon: 5467 - 5615]
