Showkat Ahmed Ganai from page 20 of his book “Kashmir Accession and Its Manipulations”. He writes,
“Today the national demand of the people of Kashmir is to not merely the establishment of a responsible government but their right to absolute freedom from military occupation of India and Pakistan. The immensity of wrong done to our people due to aggression by both India and Pakistan can only be judged by looking into graveyards, the psychiatric hospitals, the lives of disabled persons, over six lakh orphans, two lakh widows, and over fifty thousand children who have received injuries of bullet shots or tortures. It is the depth of our torment that has given us strength to our protest.”
