Unfortunately the only extra-curricular activities that Kashmiri Youth mostly participate in are smoking, gossiping and clinging on to cellphones for hours altogether.
Cigerettee smoking is a disease that has reached epidemic proportions in the valley. Wastage of money, damaging ones own health, bringing down ones social image. All packed in one cigerettee.
Small group discussions on useless topics is every household's story. Heated debates on non-sensical issues lead to massacring of laws of nature. Educated and uneducated youth equally spread the half-knowledge or ignorance about things.
And then there is clinging on to phones. "Did you have tea", "Yeah", "Same cup that u used yesterday", "naah", "How many sips did you have".. Love Birds spend endless time on phone. This package sees to it that both parties waste equal time, and one goes economically backrupt and both get emotionally backrupt.
It is high time Kashmiris realise what should be given preference at what time. Majority of this population is Muslim and if this population uses its potential, it can surely do wonders and bring fame and pride to Kashmir locally and Islam globally.
