Solar System

Solar System

At the bottom of this picture, we can see the sun as a large flaming disk and the planets revolve around it. Earth and Mars revolve around the sun. There are ten planets that revolve around the sun, the farther newly discovered planet is the 10th planet and is called (Xena) while the Earth is the 3rd planet.

God be he exalted has put these planets in regular orbits around the sun as they float and revolve in a fixed movement, therefore God be he blessed and exalted says: (They all float, each in an orbit) [Surat Yasin, verse: 40].

WHAT HOLY SPIRIT MEANS IN THE BIBLE?

With the new change in spirit, the verse under scrutiny will read:

But the Comforter, Which is The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (Emphasis added).

(HOLY BIBLE) John 14: 26

You do not have to be a Bible scholar of any calibre to sense that the expression "which is the Holy Spirit" is actually an interpolation. It ought to be in parenthesis, in brackets, like my words which have been interpolated in the quotation, i.e. "(emphasis added)." Although the editors of the RSV have expunged dozens of interpolations from their boasted Revised Standard Version, they have retained this jarring phrase which contradicts other explicit predictions of Jesus (pbuh) on the subject of the Comforter itself.

"HOLY SPIRIT" IS HOLY PROPHET

(i) It may be noted that no Biblical scholar of any standing has ever equated the "paracletos" of John in the original Greek with the Holy Ghost. Now we can say with one breath that if the Comforter is the "Holy Spirit" then that Holy Spirit is the Holy Prophet!

As Muslims we acknowledge that every true prophet of God is Holy and without sin. But whenever the expression "The Holy Prophet" is used among Muslims it is universally accepted as referring to the Holy Prophet Muhummed (pbuh). So even if we accept the above incongruous saying — "the Comforter which is the Holy Spirit," as Gospel truth, even then this prophecy will fit Muhummed (pbuh) like a glove, without any stretching of its meaning.

The same John, who is supposed to have authored the Gospel bearing his name, also penned three more Epistles which are also part of the Christian Bible. Amazingly he has used the same terminology of "Holy Spirit" for "Holy Prophet."
Beloved, believe not every Spirit, but try the Spirits whether they
are of God; because many false Prophets are gone out into the World.
(HOLY BIBLE) 1 John 4: 1

You can observe that the word spirit is used here synonymously with a prophet. A true spirit is a true prophet, and a false spirit is a false prophet But for the so-called "born-again" Christians who see only with eyes of emotion, I recommend that they lay their hands on C.I. Scofield's Authorized King lames Version of the Bible who with an Editorial Committee of 9 D.D.’s adding their notes and comments. When they come to the First word "spirit" in the above verse they should give a notation to compare it with Matthew 7: 15 which confirms that false prophets are false spirits. So according to St. John the Holy Spirit is the Holy Prophet, and the Holy Prophet is Muhummed (pbuh) the Messenger of God.

A VALID TEST
But St. John does not leave us in the air, guessing the true from the false. He gives us an acid test for recognising the true Prophet, he says —

Hereby know ye the Spirit 1 of God: Every Spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God.
(HOLY BIBLE) 1 John 4: 2

According to John's own interpretation in verse one above the word "spirit" is synonymous with the word prophet So verse two "Spirit of God" would mean Prophet of God and "Every spirit" would stand for every Prophet You have a right to know as to what the Holy Prophet Muhummed (pbuh) says about "Jesus Christ." 2

1. For SPIRIT, read PROPHET

Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) is spoken by name no less than 25 times in the Holy Qur'an. He is honoured as —
Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus, the son of Mary)
An-nabi (The Prophet)
As-saaliheen (The Righteous)
Kalimatu'Llah (Word of God)
Ruhu-Llah (Spirit of God)
Masih-uLlah (Christ of God)

Behold the angels said: "O Mary! God giveth thee Glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held In honour in this world and The Hereafter and of (the Company of) those nearest to God- (surah al-i-'imran) Holy Qur’ân 3:45
MUHUMMED (PBUH) IS THE "OTHER"

(ii) The Comforter in John 14: 26 can never be the "Holy Ghost" because Jesus (pbuh) had already explained— And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you Another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.
(HOLY BIBLE) John 14: 16

The emphasis here is on the word "ANOTHER," an other, a different one, an additional one, but of the same kind, yet distinctly different from the first. Who is then the first Comforter? The Christian world is unanimous that in this case the speaker himself — Jesus Christ (pbuh) is the first Comforter; then the other, the one to follow must be of like nature, subject to the same conditions of hunger, thirst, fatigue, sorrow and death.
But this promised Comforter was to "abide with you for EVER!" No one lives for even Jesus (pbuh) was mortal so must the coming Comforter also be mortal. No son of man can ever be immortal!
Every soul shall have a taste of death.
(SURAAL-I-IMRAN) Holy Qur’ân 3:185

ALIVE IN THEIR TEACHINGS

The soul does not really die, but when it separates from the body at the time of the death of the body, the soul will get a taste of death. But our Comforter was to "ABIDE" continue, endure for ever. All Comforters abide with us for ever. Moses is here with us today in his teachings. Jesus is here with us today in his teachings and Muhummed also is here with us in his teachings today. (May the peace and blessings of God be upon them all). This is not my novel idea trying to justify the preposterous. I say this with conviction and on the authority of Jesus Christ (pbuh) himself.
In Luke, chapter sixteen, Jesus (pbuh) tells us the story of the "Rich Man, Poor Man.' At death both find themselves at opposite ends — one in Heaven and the other in Hell. The rich man (Dives) simmering in Hell cries to Father Abraham to send the beggar (Lazarus) to assuage his thirst. But when every plea fails, he, as a last favour, requests that Father Abraham send the beggar back to earth to warn his living brothers against their impending doom if they heeded not the warnings of God.
But Abraham said, "If they (those still alive on earth) won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even though someone rises from the dead. " (to warn them) (HOLY BIBLE) Luke 16: 31
Jesus (pbuh) uttered the above fact centuries after the demise of the prophets of Israel like Jeremiah, Hosea, Zechariah, etc and over thirteen hundred years after Moses (pbuh). The Pharisees at the time of Jesus (pbuh) and we today can still listen to "MOSES AND THE PROPHETS," for they are still alive, and with us here today in their teachings.

'YOU' OF THE TIME

If it is said that the Comforter was promised to the immediate disciples of Jesus (pbuh) and not to a people six hundred years later:

and he (God) shall give You another Comforter, that he may abide with You for ever.
(HOLY BIBLE) John 14:16

Surprisingly, the Christian sees no difficulty in justifying the fulfillment of prophecies "since the world began," 1 and after over a millennium2 when Peter in his second sermon to the Jews, reminds them:

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord Your God raise up unto You of Your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear In all things what-so ever he shall say unto You.
(HOLY BIBLE) Acts 3: 22

All these "YE, YOU and YOURS" are from the Book of Deuteronomy, chapter 18, 3 when Moses (pbuh) addressed his people and not the Jews at the time of Peter, thirteen hundred years later. The Gospel writers have put the same compromising words in the mouth of their Master which are begging for fulfillment for two thousand years. I think just one example will suffice:

But when they persecute You in this city, flee Ye into another: for verily (most assuredly) I (Jesus) say unto You, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel till the son of man (Jesus) be come.
(HOLY BIBLE) Matthew 10: 25

1. Acts 3:21

2. Millennium: A thousand years

3. For an elaboration on this prophecy, see "WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT MUHUMMED (PBUH)"

SCANNING THE CLOUDS
These early followers of the Messiah, forever ran, forlornly fleeing persecution. They ran from one city to another in Israel, scanning every dark cloud for the descent of Jesus (pbuh) in his second coming. The missionaries see no anomaly in their millennium of unfulfilled prophecies. God Almighty did not keep them waiting for even a quarter of the time for the advent of the "paracletos," — the Comforter or Ahmed which is another name for the Praised One. Let them show gratitude to God by accepting this Last and Final Messenger of God — Muhummed (pbuh)!

ADVENT OF COMFORTER CONDITIONAL

(iii) The Comforter is definitely not the "Holy Ghost" because the coming of the Comforter was conditional whereas that of the Holy Ghost was not as we observe in the prophecy —

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go for If I Go Not Away, The Comforter Will Not Come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
(HOLY BIBLE) John 16: 7

"lf I don't go he won't come, but if I go, I will send him." There are numerous instances in the Holy Bible about the coming andgoing of the HOLY GHOST, before the birth and departure of the Messiah. Do yourself a favour, please verify these references in your Bible -

B.C. BEFORE CHRIST'S BIRTH:

1. ... and he (John the Baptist) shall be
filled with the Holy Ghost,
even from his mother's womb.
(HOLY BIBLE) Luke 1: 15

2. ... and Elizabeth was filled
with the Holy Ghost.
(HOLY BIBLE) Luke 1: 41

3. And his father Zacharias was
filled with the Holy Ghost.
(HOLY BIBLE) Luke 1:67

A.C. AFTER CHRIST'S BIRTH:

4. ... and the Holy Ghost was upon him (Simeon).
(HOLY BIBLE) Luke 2:26

5. And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily
shape like a dove upon him (Jesus).
(HOLY BIBLE) Luke 3:22

From the above quotations, before and after the birth of Jesus (pbuh), one cannot help admiring St. Luke who appears to be a specialist on the Holy Ghost We may well ask the Christians, after the descent of the "dove", with whose help did Jesus (pbuh) perform his many miracles if not with the help of the Holy Ghost? Let the Master himself tell us. When accused by his own people, the Jews, that he was working in league with Beelzebub (the chief of the devils) to work his miracles, Jesus (pbuh) rhetorically questions them, "How can Satan cast out Satan?" The Jews imputed that this spirit of holiness - the Spirit of God - which was helping him, was devilish. This was treason of the highest order. So he gives them a dire warning:

... but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, it shall never be forgiven
(HOLY BIBLE) Matthew 12:31

This "Holy Ghost" is non other than what Matthew himself has described in three verses before quoting the Master:

But if I (Jesus) cast out devils by the Spirit OF God, then the kingdom of God is come upon you.
(HOLY BIBLE) Matthew 12:28

Compare the same statement by another Gospel writer1

But if I (Jesus) by the Finger Of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
(HOLY BIBLE) Luke 3:22

1. Give a second glance at the two verses, top and bottom, and you cannot help concluding that they are almost indentical. Why? The answer is in "Is the Bible God’s Word?".

You do not have to be a Bible scholar to understand that the expressions (a) "Finger of God" (b) "Spirit of God" and (c) "Holy Ghost" are all synonymous phrases. So the Holy Ghost was helping Jesus (pbuh) in his ministry. The Holy Ghost was also helping his disciples on their missions of preaching and healing. If there is still any doubt in your minds about the workings of the Holy Ghost then please read:

EMPTY PROMISE

...as my Father hath sent me, even so I send you (the disciples of Jesus), And when he had said this, be breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive Ye The Holy Ghost
(HOLY BIBLE) John 20: 21 –22

This was surely no empty promise. The disciples must have received the gift of the Holy Ghost. So if the "Holy Ghost" was with (1) John the Baptist, (2) Elizabeth. (3) Zacharias. (4) Simeon. (5) Jesus and (6) the Disciples of Jesus; then all this makes nonsense of the saying that "if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you." Therefore the Comforter is not the Holy Ghost?. And that Mohammed(pbuh) , the last and final messenger of Allah.

Secrets of the sun and lunar eclipses

Secrets of the sun and lunar eclipses

The miracles of the prophet Mohamed's' sayings are not less significant as the Quran; the illiterate prophets' sayings are revealed from Allah almighty …

Allah almighty says: " By the star when it goes down * Your companion (Mohamed(peace be upon him)) has neither gone astray nor has erred* Nor does he speak of his own desire* it is only a Revelation revealed* He has been taught (this Quran) by one mighty in power ( Gabriel) " [An-Najm: 1-5] .

During the prophet's time, the phenomenon of the sun eclipsed had occurred. People, then, were saying that the sun eclipsed for the death of Ibrahim, the prophets' son peace be upon him who died in the same day of the phenomena.

It was usual for the ancients to attribute any phenomena to myths and legends, such as attributing the sun eclipse to the death of an important king, or that it is a sign for losing a battle or for removing the king's property.

Among the funny things that ancient people used to believe is that the sun eclipsed due to a dragon that swallowed it. So they used to beat on the drums and threw arrows toward the sky to scare away that dragon, then they said that the dragon was frightened so he threw the sun back and run away! Other people believed that when the sun eclipsed, then an important event is about to happen due to attributing the sun with gods. While we judge these thoughts as mere myth, people during that time thought they were strong facts.

When people came to the prophet Mohamed "peace be upon him" and said that the sun had eclipsed for the death of Ibrahim, what did he tell them? Did he agree with them or did he correct their beliefs? He "peace be upon him" said: "The sun and the moon are among Allah's (SWT) signs that don't eclipse for the death or the life of someone" Correct Hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim may Allah (SWT) have mercy on them.

We can from this Hadith conclude several unique miracles for the prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him" and will discover that he is the first human (of course inspired by Allah (SWT)) to lay the foundation of studying astronomy.

Perhaps among the important effects of the solar eclipse is the confusion that appears on some animals and birds. Birds stop singing, some animals think that the night descended, so they snooze in their nests, and roses that open during the day and close during the night will close during the sun eclipse. There are also important effects on tides and many other results.

How does this phenomenon occur? What are the causes and what are the results?

The earth we live on orbits around the sun once every year. The moon also orbits around the earth once every lunar month. It happens that, in certain times, when the sun is bright and sending its rays, the moon while rotating comes in front of it and covers it totally, so we say that the sun has eclipsed.

The phenomenon of the sun eclipse is very dangerous. That's because the sun is the lamp that transmits lights and dangerous radiations. The most dangerous radiation is infrared which is transmitted via the sun on a permanent basis but does not harm us because we don't look directly to the sun. When the moon comes in front of the sun and covers only part of it, we call this phenomenon a partial eclipse. However, if the moon covers the sun totally, the phenomenon is a total eclipse, where the sun disappears and the world suddenly is dark for a minute or two.

When the moon passes in front of the sun and covers part of its light, we can see the sun, but the infrared radiation is invisible. If we look momentarily at the sun during the eclipse, the retina will get serious injuries and infections. Also, this radiation might cause temporary or permanent blindness. Scientists recommend not looking at the sun during eclipse because it sends large amount of infrared radiation.

The moon doesn't send out any rays; Allah (SWT) precisely describes it saying:" and a moon giving light " [Al-Furqan: 61], without originally producing light or rays. The moon reflects rays, and we receive the safe ones. Allah (SWT) describes it as an object that reflects light, while the sun is the light and the illumination source. Based on this fact, watching the moon while in eclipse doesn't cause any harm.

The other phenomenon is the lunar eclipse. The moon reflects the sun's light toward our planet, so we see it illuminating in our sky. Allah (SWT) says: "Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light " [Al-Furqan: 61] .

During lunar phenomenon, the earth locates in the middle of the moon and the sun masking the sun's light, so the moon appears as a dim copper disc.

While sun and lunar eclipse occur on the earth, the eclipse phenomenon occurs for other planets. Most planets in the universe have moons that orbit around them, and sometimes, these moons pass in front of the sun covering the sun's light and leaving the planets dark for a few minutes. Scientist"from NASA" were able to take a photograph for the planet Jupiter during the eclipse as seen on the picture. The black spots represent the planet's moon's shadow during the eclipse

We can conclude from these facts that the sun and the moon revolve in a controlled and accurate system, and the eclipse phenomenon is a natural process that doesn't occur in a result of someone's death or life.

Polygamy in Islam

There are people who know very little about Islam. But there is one thing many seem to know and that is a Muslim man can have four wives.

Islam permits men to engage in polygamy. They may have as many as four wives at the same time. Islam permits men to have one wife and be monogamous or have two, three, or four wives and be polygamous. Nonetheless, the number of wives that a man may have in Islam, if he chooses to engage in polygamy, must not exceed four at a time.

A Muslim man who engages in polygamy should deal justly with his wives in all matters that are within his limit, mainly in matters of maintenance. He is to divide his wealth and the time he spends between his wives equally, especially his nights. A woman may waive her rights and reclaim them at anytime.

SIMPLIFIED DEFINITION OF POLYGAMY IN ISLAM

Speaking from an Islamic perspective, polygamy means a man has more than one wife at a time and the number of wives does not exceed four at a time.

POLYGAMY IN GENERAL

In general, the word “polygamy” refers to a marriage with more than one spouse at the same time. One person from one sex marries more than one person from the opposite sex, simultaneously. It includes a man who has more than one wife at the same time or a woman who has more than one husband at the same time.

POLYGYNY

“Polygyny” refers to a marriage of one man with more than one wife at the same time.

POLYGAMY OR POLYGYNY?

There is no need to debate whether the proper word is “polygamy” or ” polygyny” when referring to Islam. I am certain no one has ever heard of a Muslim woman having more than one husband at a time – NEVER in Islam.

Arguing “polygamy” and “polygyny” in Islam seems useless and is merely a matter of semantics. We, in Islam, know what polygamy is, so why argue about the words?

POLYGAMY DID NOT BEGIN WITH ISLAM

Islam did not create polygamy. Polygamy existed in varying degrees in different parts of the world, in diverse cultures before the spread of Islam. Polygamy was the practice of Jews, Christians, Buddhist, and pre-Islamic Arabs, perhaps others as well. What Islam did was to organize polygamy, and restrict it to four wives under strict rules of justice.

There were, there still are, and there will be people who misuse what is given them. In those cases, it is wrong to blame the authority or the giver. Blame the man who misuses what he is given. The man who misuses polygamy will be held accountable.

SOME REASONS MEN ENGAGE IN POLYGAMY

Some reasons why men engage in polygamy are:

There were frequent wars between tribes and nations. These wars resulted in an excess of women over men, as many men died in battle. In order to accommodate the excess number of women to men, polygamy was a remedy.

Polygamy healed the wounded heart of a woman whose husband died in battle.

Polygamy helped rehabilitate widows, orphans, and other women that were left without supporters or husbands as a result of war.

Polygamy was the solution for women that were helpless and destitute. A polygamous marriage provided those women with a means of livelihood and protection.

It was a chivalrous act to marry as many women as a man could support.

It was a huge indignity on a family and the entire tribe, if a female remained unmarried or married below her social status. Eligible girls of marriageable age had many offers of marriage. Parents competed with each other in providing enticement in the form of jewelry and property as dower.

Men engaged in polygamy to assure an increase in the birthrate. It was necessary for every person member of a tribe to try to increase the numbers in the tribe to which it belonged.

Polygamy was a solution in some cases where a wife was chronically ill, incapacitated, or unable to bear children.

THE NEED FOR POLYGAMY IS NOT OBSOLETE

There are still wars that leave women widowed.

There are still single women that cannot find husbands.

It doesn’t matter whether a woman is a physician, educator, or a lawyer; it does not matter what position she holds, for many women, marriage is their dream. Regardless of how much she excels in her work, for a woman (not all women, of course) her subconscious aim is that of having a family of her own, shared by a good man who is the father of her children.

There still are reproductively challenged (barren) married women.

The Quran is for all men, for all times. Polygamy is permissible in Islam. That permission was given by Allah (Great and Glorious is He)

IS POLYGAMY EASY TO LIVE?

A life of polygamy is probably a challenge for everyone that lives it. Polygamous marriages are not all the same, just as monogamous marriages are not all the same. Neither polygamy, nor monogamy is easy, shown by the divorce rates.

POLYGAMY 411

Polygamy 411 invites and welcome everyone, Muslims and non-Muslims here.

We invite everyone to share their stories about their lives and what they’ve experienced with polygamy.

We welcome all to read the story of my journey, as I lived and live polygamy.

I pray Allah (Great and Glorious is He) blesses us to become better Muslims, become “Believers”, and grow closer to Him.

“Allah has indeed heard (and accepted) the statement of the woman who pleads with thee concerning her husband and carries her complaint (in prayer) to Allah: and Allah (always) hears the argument between both sides among you: for Allah hears and sees (all things).”
Quran: Surah Al Mudadilah 58, Iyat 1

hadith

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever calls others to guidance will have a reward similar to those who follow him, without detracting from their reward at all; and whoever calls people to misguidance will have the burden of sin similar to those who follow him, without detracting from their burden at all.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 34, Number 6470]

The whole body decays except the coccyx ,

Scientific miracle in the sunnah :

The whole body decays except the coccyx ,

In a number of Prophetic Hadeeths, the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, mentioned that the tailbone is a small bone at the base of the spinal column. It is a remnant of the primary strand from which the human body is created in the embryonic stage, and it remains after his death and even after his body decomposes. It is this coccyx from which man will be brought back to life on the Day of Resurrection.
The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, asserted that Allaah The Almighty will send rain from the sky and then the dead bodies will grow from these coccyges like vegetation grows.
According to another narration of Muslim: “There is a bone in the
human being which the earth would never consume and it is from this that new bodies would be reconstituted (on the Day of Resurrection). They said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, which bone is that?’ Thereupon, he said: ‘It is the tailbone.’”
In a third narration of Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allaah be pleased with him, the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said:
“‘Between the two times of blowing of the trumpet there would be
(an interval of) forty. They said, ‘O Abu Hurayrah, do you mean
forty days?’ He said, ‘I refuse to answer .’ They said, ‘Do you
mean forty months?’ He said, ‘I refuse to answer.’ They said, ‘Do
you mean forty years?’ He said, ‘I refuse to answer. Then Allaah
would cause water to descend from the sky and they (people) will
sprout like vegetables. The earth would consume every part of the
son of Aadam (after his death) except for one bone; the coccyx
(the bone at the base of the vertebral column) from which he is
created and from which his body will be reconstituted on the Day
of Resurrection .’”
The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, foretold a scientific fact that was only discovered a few years ago. Specialists in embryology have proven that the human body is created from a very delicate strand called "the primary strand.” This is created, with the will of Allaah The Almighty on the 15th day of the fertilization of the ovum and its implantation in the wall of the uterus. When this strand is found, all the organs of the embryo start to be formed, especially the nervous system,
the initial parts of the vertebral column and the rest of the body parts because Allaah has given this strand the ability to stimulate the cells to start to divide, differentiate from each other and acquire their own specific characteristics. It also helps them accumulate together in their specialized tissues and full organs, which complement each other in their cooperation to perform all bodily functions.
It has been proven that this preliminary strand decomposes (after man's death) except for a small part (the origin of the coccyx), which remains at the end of the vertebral column (or in the vertebra known as the coccyx) and this is what is meant by "‘Ajbu Ath-Thanab" in the Hadeeths of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. When man dies, the whole body decomposes except for this part, from which – as mentioned in the Hadeeth – man will be recreated exactly as a plant germinates from a seed. This process will take place, when, at the time of Resurrection,
special rain will fall from the sky, by the will of Allaah The Almighty.
A group of Chinese scientists proved in some of their laboratory
experiments that it is impossible for this part, the end part of the coccyx, to be destroyed completely. They tried to dissolve it chemically in the strongest acids, through burning, crushing, and by subjecting it to various types of radiation. This definitely proves that the Hadeeth of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is true and precedes all scientific experiments by 1400 years at least.

olive oil

Blessed olive oil “Consume olive oil and apply it as lotion for it is blessed.”
‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab, may Allaah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Consume olive oil and apply it as lotion for it comes from a blessed tree.” [At-Tirmithi]

‘Abu Hurayrah, may Allaah be pleased with him, narrated that the
Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Consume olive oil and
apply it as lotion for it is blessed.” [Ibn Maajah]
The same Hadeeth was also narrated by Imaam Ahmad, may Allaah have mercy upon him, in Musnad Al-Makkyyeen. Abu Sufyaan, may Allaah be pleased with him, told the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, that he was sick, thereupon the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said:
“ Consume olive oil and apply it as lotion for it comes from a blessed tree.”
Moreover, the olive tree and its oil were mentioned in the Noble Quran seven times. Allaah The Almighty Swore by the fig and the olive: {By the fig, and the olive} [Quran 93:1]
Allaah The Exalted also referred to the olive tree Saying (what means):
{And [We Brought forth] a tree [olive] issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat.} [Quran 23:20]
This same tree was praised by Allaah The Almighty within the context of a simile. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched
by fire.} [Quran 24:5]
The olive tree is an evergreen tree, which has a high tolerance of dryness.
It is a perennial plant that might live even for more than 1000 years. The cultivated olive (Olea europaea) is grown throughout the eastern Mediterranean region and in other parts of the world that have Mediterranean-type climates especially in Asia and Africa. The olive tree has been known since the times of the most ancient civilizations as one of the most important oil producing plants.

It has been recently proven that the amount of fatty acids in olive oil is very low and that it only contains unsaturated fats. That is why it is considered very healthy, as it is free of the substances that lead to arteriosclerosis and even to the occlusion of the arteries. Through an accurate survey it was found that consuming olive oil regularly helps protect the body from many diseases including occlusion of the coronary arteries, an increase in the ratio of harmful fats in the blood, an increase in blood pressure, diabetes, some carcinogenic diseases (e.g. cancer of the stomach, the colon, the breast, the uterus and the skin), in addition to
protection from ulcers of the digestive system.
One of the main body fats is "cholesterol,” a white crystalline fat which is present in high amounts in the brain, the spinal cord, and the liver. It is normally synthesized in the liver, the intestine, and the skin, and is important as a mediator in many vital processes. The most important one of these processes is the synthesis of vitamin E and many hormones.
Nevertheless, eating excessive amounts of animal fats may lead to
increasing the level of cholesterol in the body. Part of this cholesterol will pass to the blood forming a fat globule that may lead to the obstruction or occlusion of the blood vessels, and may consequently lead to arteriosclerosis.
It is well-known that the oxidation of cholesterol is one of the factors that help accelerate the hardening of the arteries and their consequent narrowing. It has lately been discovered that olive oil plays an important role in preventing this oxidation process from occurring, as it contains vitamin E and other polyphenolic compounds, which prevent the selfoxidation of the oil. It also prevents the oxidation of harmful cholesterol known as LDL (Low-density lipoprotein), and purifies the body from the dangers of lipid peroxides as well as other harmful substances.
Therefore, consuming olive oil regularly helps lower the total amount of holesterol in the blood generally, and reduces the ratio of harmful types of cholesterol in particular. The low cancer rate, which is detected in the Mediterranean region, is attributed to the fact that the inhabitants of this region have regular large amounts of olives and olive oil (especially the virgin oil produced from the first squeezing process that is free from any chemical treatment).
Olive oil is a yellow liquid, rich in oleic acids, used in cooking and as a salad dressing. It is also used in producing many medicines, medical ointments, hair oils, and soap. Moreover, it produces a clear flame when ignited; hence, it was used in lighting lanterns. Olive oil was used in lighting lamps, especially in large mosques such as the Aqsa Mosque, we pray Allaah The Almighty to help us set it free from the Jews.
In addition to the above-mentioned health benefits of the olive tree and its oil, olives constitute a relish for those who eat them, a nourishing food, and an appetizer, and olives can be stored and preserved in salt, which increases their economic value.
Glorified be He Who praised olives and their oil in His perfect Book,
swore by it, and inspired the seal of His Prophets to speak about this scientific fact, the real aspects of which have only been known since the 1980s. Being inspired about the advantages of olives and their oil the Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said: “Consume olive oil and apply it as lotion for it is blessed (or comes from a blessed tree).”
