Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If one of you were to carry a bundle of firewood on his back and sell it, that would be better for him than begging a man who may or may not give him anything.”

The Messenger believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. Each one (of them) believeth in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers. "We make no distinction (they say) between one and another of His messengers." And they say: "We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys."
On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray:) "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith

The individual is responsible only for their conduct, not that of others and certainly not Adam according to the Old Testament. The whole idea is just nonsense and has no Biblical support outside Paul, a man that never even met Jesus.
Ezekiel 18:20 said; ".....the son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father for the iniquity of the son..."why are we said to be suffering from the original iniquity of ADAM and EVE? Quran said in 2:37 that they were both forgiven.

son of adam

Son of Adam ! Know that the angel of death who has been assigned to you has not ceased to pass you and move on to others, ever since you have been in this world. But it is as if he is about to pass someone else and move on to target you, so be careful and prepare for him (by correcting your deeds). And do not forget him, for he does not forget you. And know O son of Adam, if you are heedless about yourself and do not prepare, no one else will prepare for you. You must meet Allah the Mighty and Majestic, So take for yourself and do not leave it to someone else. Peace be on you.

A REVELATION - ABU LAHAB

A REVELATION - ABU LAHAB

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had an uncle by the name of Abu Lahab. This man hated Islam to such an extent that he used to follow the Prophet around in order to discredit him. If Abu Lahab saw the Prophet (pbuh) speaking to a stranger, he would wait until they parted and the would go to the stranger and ask him, “What did he tell you? Did he say, ‘Black’? Well, it’s white. Did he say ‘morning’? Well, it’s night.” He faithfully said the exact opposite of whatever he heard Muhammad (pbuh) and the Muslims say. However, about ten years before Abu Lahab died, a little chapter in the Quran (Surah al-Lahab, 111) was revealed about him. It distinctly stated that he would go to the fire (i.e., Hell). In other words, it affirmed that he would never become a Muslim and would therefore be condemned forever. For ten years all Abu Lahab had to do was say, “I heard that it has been revealed to Muhammad that I will never change - that I will never become a Muslim and will enter the Hellfire. Well, I want to become Muslim now. How do you like that? What do you think of your divine revelation now?” But he never did that. And yet, that is exactly the kind of behavior one would have expected from him since he always sought to contradict Islam.

In essence, Muhammad (pbuh) said, “You hate me and you want to finish me? Here, say these words, and I am finished. Come on, say them!” But Abu Lahab never said them. Ten years! And in all that time he never accepted Islam or even became sympathetic to the Islamic cause.

How could Muhammad (pbuh) possibly have known for sure that Abu Lahab would fulfil the Quranic revelation if he (i.e., Muhammad) was not truly the messenger of Allah? How could he possibly have been so confident as to give someone 10 years to discredit his claim of prophethood? Three Persons and the Cave:

Three Persons and the Cave:

Narrated Ibn 'Umar(may ALLAH be pleased with him): ALLAH's Apostle(peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said,

"While three persons were traveling, they were overtaken by rain and they took shelter in a cave in a mountain. A big rock fell from the mountain over the mouth of the cave and blocked it. They said to each other. 'Think of such good (righteous) deeds which, you did for ALLAH's sake only, and invoke ALLAH by giving reference to those deeds so that ALLAH may relieve you from your difficulty.

One of them said, 'O ALLAH! I had my parents who were very old and I had small children for whose sake I used to work as a shepherd. When I returned to them at night and milked (the sheep), I used to start giving the milk to my parents first before giving to my children. And one day I went far away in search of a grazing place (for my sheep), and didn't return home till late at night and found that my parents had slept. I milked (my livestock) as usual and brought the milk vessel and stood at their heads, and I disliked to wake them up from their sleep, and I also disliked to give the milk to my children before my parents though my children were crying (from hunger) at my feet.So this state of mine and theirs continued till the day dawned. (O ALLAH!) If you considered that I had done that only for seeking Your pleasure, then please let there be an opening through which we can see the sky.' So ALLAH made for them an opening through which they could see the sky.

Then the second person said, 'O ALLAH! I had a she-cousin whom I loved as much as a passionate man love a woman. I tried to seduce her but she refused till I paid her one-hundred Dinars So I worked hard till I collected one hundred Dinars and went to her with that But when I sat with her, she said, 'O ALLAH's slave! Be afraid of ALLAH ! Do not deflower me except legally (by marriage contract). So I left her O ALLAH! If you considered that I had done that only for seeking Your pleasure then please let the rock move a little to have a (wider) opening.'So ALLAH shifted that rock to make the opening wider for them.

And the last (third) person said 'O ALLAH ! I employed a laborer for wages equal to a Faraq (a certain measure: of rice) and when he had finished his job he demanded his wages, but when I presented his due to him, he gave it up and refused to take it. Then I kept on sowing that rice for him (several times) till managed to buy with the price of the yield, some cows and their shepherd Later on the laborer came to me an said. '(O ALLAH's slave!) Be afraid o ALLAH, and do not be unjust to me an give me my due.' I said (to him). 'Go and take those cows and their shepherd. So he took them and went away. (So, O ALLAH!) If You considered that I had done that for seeking Your pleasure, then please remove the remaining part of the rock.' And so ALLAH released them (from their difficulty)."

shirk

Its Shirk to Wear Rings or Threads or the Like as a Means of Prevention or Lifting of Afflictions:

Wearing a ring or string of any type, whether it is made of brass, copper, iron, or leather, with the intent of removing some ailment or protecting against something. Indeed this is a form of shirk

Allaah , says:
...
" Say: "Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides Allaah - if Allaah intended some harm to me, could they remove His harm, or if He intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy?" Say: "Sufficient for me is Allaah; in Him those who trust [the true Believers] must put their trust."" (Qur'an 39:38)

In this verse, Allaah , Most Glorified, Most High commands His Prophet, Muhammad (SAWS) to reject those powerless, graven images worshipped by the polytheists, which can neither remove any harm which might befall a person by Allah's Decree, nor prevent any sustenance or blessings which might come to a person from Him. Then He commands him to place his trust in Allaah , for He is Sufficient to bring benefit or prevent harm for all who sincerely depend upon Him.

Relevance of This Verse to the Subject

That it proves that protection from harm is only from Allaah , and so entrusting oneself to any other protector - such as rings, threads etc. is an act of Shirk.

It is reported on the authority of Umran Ibn Husain (Son of Husain (R A)), that Allaah's Messenger (SAWS) saw a man with a brass ring in his hand, and he asked him: "What is this?" He replied: "It is for protection from al-waahinah(rheumatism)". The Prophet (SAWS) answered:

"Remove it at once, for verily, it will not increase you except in weakness, and were you to die whilst wearing it, you would never be successful." (Narrated by Ahmad, with an acceptable Sanad)

This hadith informs us that the Prophet (SAWS) saw a man with a brass ring in his hand, and he asked him for what purpose he was wearing it. The man answered that he was wearing it to protect him from illness, at which the Prophet (SAWS) ordered him to remove it and informed him that it would only cause him to become weak and not protect him from illness at all, and that should he die while wearing it and believing in its power to protect him, he would not succeed in the Hereafter, nor would he know eternal bliss.

It is reported by Ibn Abi Hatim, on the authority of Huzaifah (R A) that he saw a man with a thread in his hand to protect him from fever; he broke it and recited the Words of Allaah (SWT), Most High:

" And most of them do not believe in Allaah, except that they associate partners with Him" (Qur'an 12:106)

Conclusion:

This proves that wearing an amulet or talisman, believing that it can benefit one is an act of Shirk because benefits come only from Allaah , the Almighty, the All-powerful.

The use of threads as protection from harm is an act of Shirk, because protection from harm comes only from Allaah , the Almighty, the All-powerful.
