Peter Oborne, the former Chief Political Commentator for The Telegraph says he is looking forward to hosting the upcoming cross-panel debate in London entitled:
The Big Question: Is Islam The Cause
Or Solution To Extremism?
Voted Columnist of the Year at the Press Awards in 2013, Mr Oborne writes a weekly column for Middle East Eye and The Daily Mail.
Mr Oborne said, ”I am very happy to be chairing this event and am looking forward to the debate."
He also often appears on BBC programmes which include Question Time, Any Questions and often presents Week in Westminster.
He has written a number of books identifying the power structures that lurk behind political discourse, including ‘The Triumph of the Political Class’ and ‘The Rise of Political Lying’.
In July 2015, writing for the Middle East Eye, Mr Oborne suggests that “Cameron’s recent speeches suggest that grim days lie ahead here in Britain. The Muslim community faces being persecuted for its beliefs. Counter-terrorism is mutating into counter-subversion. Allies are being redefined as enemies. It is very sad to see a Conservative prime minister repeating the errors of his Labour predecessor.”
