I am Muslim, lived according to the Gregorian calendar because of being on the Western part of the world, however since the clarity Our Almighty Allah has guided me with, Muharram has been and will remain the only new start of our new year for me In Shaa Allah Ameen. SubhanAllah Shukr Almighty Allah!!! Once again the only way is the sunnah way of Our Beloved Prophet (Peace and Salutations Upon Him), blessings upon His family, companions and all those who follows Him In Shaa Allah Ameen.
