Recently lies have been spreading against the Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al-Sheikh of Saudi Arabia, claiming that the shiekh issused a fatwa which allows a hungry man to eat his wife, or parts of her body, in the case of famine or if eating his wife would result in saving his own life. He never issued any fatwa, all of this news is false and a complete slander against the shiekh.
Always verify news, Allah says in the Qur'an:
“O you who believe! If a Faasiq (liar — evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done”
[al-Hujuraat 49:6]
