Abu Lahab and his wife could have destroyed Islam and proved the Messenger of Allah a liar. How?
Surat al Masad:
1. Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he!
2. His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him!
3. He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames!
4. And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet , or use to slander him).
5. In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre).
The Qur'an declared Abu Lahab and his wife dwellers of the Hellfire because they never accepted islam and rhey were biggest enemies to the prophet Muhammad PBUH .
Abu Lahab and his wife lived for 10 years until they died after the revelation of this Sura...Surat al Masad.

All Abu Lahab and his wife could have done was accept Islam and this Surah would have been a lie and prophet Muhammad would have been exposed. Or they could have lied about accepting islam about it and to all the people it would have appeared as they are muslims and again Qur'an would have been exposed.
10 years...but they never accepted islam and the Qur'an was correct they wouldn't.... Allah is the all knowing
