Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever supports his people in oppression is like a dead camel that falls into a well and is pulled out by its tail.”

In another narration, the Prophet said, “The parable of the one who supports his people upon other than the truth is that of a dead camel that falls into a well and is pulled out by its tail.”

Al-Khattabi said, “The meaning is that he has fallen into sin and been destroyed.”
