Once upon a time...

United Muslims World
Once upon a time...
there was a rich King who had 4 wives.
He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.
He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.
He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidante and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her to help him get through the difficult times.
The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.
One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short.
He thought of his luxurious life and pondered, "I now have 4 wives with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone."
Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.
Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.
The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to remarry!"
His heart sank and turned cold.
He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave."
Her answer came like a bolt of thunder and the King was devastated.
Then a voice called out:
"I'll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go." The King looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, she suffered from malnutrition.
Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"
In Truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives ...
Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.
Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.
Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
And our 1st wife is our Soul,
often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the ego. However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go.

ISLAM AND MUSLIMS
============================
Do not judge a car by its driver
============================
Islam is perfect but Muslims may not be, do not get confused.
============================
If any Muslim makes a mistake, blame it on him, not on his religion.
============================
Don't always look at Muslims.. But rather Look at Islam
============================
Muslims are Humans and make mistakes..
============================
ISLAM is From ALLAH and it is PERFECT
============================
Question:
============================
If Islam is the best religion, why are many of the Muslims dishonest, unreliable, and involved in activities such as terrorism, cheating, bribing, dealing in drugs, etc.?
============================
Answer:
============================
1. Media maligns Islam
============================
A. Islam is without doubt the best religion but the media is in the hands of the westerners who are afraid of Islam.
The media is continuously broadcasting and printing information against Islam.
They either provide misinformation about Islam, misquote Islam or project a point out of proportion, if any.
B. When any bomb blast takes place anywhere, the first people to be accused without proof are invariably the Muslims.
This appears as headlines in the news. Later, when they find that non-Muslims were responsible, it appears as an insignificant news’ item.
C. If a 50-year old Muslim marries a 15-year old girl after taking her permission, it appears on the front page but when a 50-year old non-Muslim rapes a 6-year old girl, it may appear in the news in the inside pages as ‘News-briefs’.
Everyday in America on an average 2,713 cases of rape take place but it doesn’t appear in the news, since it has become a way of life for the Americans.
============================
2. Black sheep in every community
============================
I am aware that there are some Muslims who are dishonest, unreliable, who cheat, etc. but the media projects this as though only Muslims are involved in such activities.
There are black sheep in every community.
I know Muslims who are alcoholics and who can drink most of the non-Muslims under the table.
============================
3. Muslims best as a whole
============================
In spite of all the black sheep in the Muslim community, Muslims taken on the whole, yet form the best community in the world.
We are the biggest community of teetotallers as a whole, I.e. those who don’t imbibe alcohol.
Collectively, we are a community which gives the maximum charity in the world.
There is not a single person in the world who can even show a candle to the Muslims where modesty is concerned; where sobriety is concerned; where human values and ethics are concerned.
============================
4. Don’t judge a car by its driver
============================
If you want to judge how good is the latest model of the “Mercedes” car and a person who does not know how to drive sits at the steering wheel and bangs up the car, who will you blame?
The car or the driver? But naturally, the driver.
To analyse how good the car is, a person should not look at the driver but see the ability and features of the car.
How fast is it, what is its average fuel consumption, what are the safety measures, etc.
Even if I agree for the sake of argument that the Muslims are bad, we can’t judge Islam by its followers! If you want to judge how good Islam is then judge it according to its authentic sources, I.e. the Glorious Qur’an and the Sahih Hadith.
============================
5. Judge Islam by its best follower i.e. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
============================
If you practically want to check how good a car is, put an expert driver behind the steering wheel.
Similarly the best and the most exemplary follower of Islam by whom you can check how good Islam is,
is the last and final messenger of God, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Besides Muslims, there are several honest and unbiased non-Muslim historians who have acclaimed that prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the best human being.
According to Michael H. Hart who wrote the book, ‘The 100 Most Influential Men in History’, the topmost position, I.e. the number one position goes to the beloved prophet of Islam, Muhammad (pbuh).
There are several such examples of non-Muslims paying great tributes to the prophet (pbuh),
============================
we will relate some of their quotation regarding prophet MUhammad PBUH.
============================
01 Gibbon, the master historian in his "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire." His struggle and victory over the forces of unbelief and evil made the editors of the Encyclopedia Britannica to exclaim, Muhammad (pbuh} to be - - - "THE MOST SUCCESSFUL OF ALL RELIGIOUS PERSONALITIES."
============================
02 De Lacy O'Leary in "Islam at the Crossroads'' London, 1923, p.8
"HISTORY MAKES IT CLEAR HOWEVER, THAT THE LEGEND OF FANATICAL MUSLIMS SWEEPING THROUGH THE WORLD AND FORCING ISLAM AT THE POINT OF THE SWORD UPON CONQUERED RACES IS ONE OF THE MOST FANTASTICALLY ABSURD MYTHS THAT HISTORIANS HAVE EVER REPEATED."
============================
03 Thomas Carlyle in Heroes and Hero-Worship. p. 80
We can do no better than to allow Thomas Carlyle himself to defend his Hero Prophet against this false charge;
"THE SWORD INDEED: BUT WHERE WILL YOU GET YOUR SWORD! EVERY NEW OPINION, AT ITS STARTING, IS PRECISELY IN A MINORITY OF ONE. IN ONE MAN'S HEAD ALONE, THERE IT DWELLS AS YET.
ONE MAN ALONE OF THE WHOLE WORLD BELIEVES IT; THERE IS ONE MAN AGAINST ALL MEN.
THAT HE TAKE A SWORD, AND TRY TO PROPAGATE WITH THAT, WILL DO LITTLE FOR HIM. YOU MUST FIRST GET YOUR SWORD! ON THE WHOLE, A THING WILL PROPAGATE ITSELF AS IT CAN.
WE DO NOT FIND, OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION EITHER, THAT IT ALWAYS DISDAINED THE SWORD, WHEN ONCE IT HAD GOT ONE.
CHARLEMAGNE'S CONVERSION OF THE SAXONS WAS NOT BY PREACHING."
At the age of forty when Muhammad {pbuh} declared his mission from heaven, there was no political party, or royalty, and certainly no family or tribe to back him up. His people - the Arabs, immersed in idol-worship and fetishism were not by any means a docile people, they were no easy meat.
They were a very volatile people. given to internecine and fratricidal wars: subject to "all kinds of fierce sincerities - " {Carlyle}.
One man, single-handed, to wean such a people required nothing short of a miracle.
A miracle did happen. God alone could have made Islam and Muhammad {pbuh} to triumph through with flimsy, gossamer support. God fulfilling His promise:
And have We not raised high the esteem in which thou O Muhammad are held? Holy Quran 94:4
============================
04 Mahatma Gandhi - the father of modern India, in "Young India."
THE MORE I STUDY THE MORE I DISCOVER THAT THE STRENGTH OF ISLAM DOES NOT LIE IN THE SWORD.
============================
05 Lamartine, "Historie de la Turquie," Paris 1854
"If greatness of purpose, smallness of means and astounding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in modern history with Muhammad?
The most famous men created arms, laws and empires only.
They founded, if anything at all, no more than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes.
This man Muhammed moved not only armies, legislations, empires, peoples nd dynasties, but millions of men; and more than that the altars, the gods, the religions, the ideas, the beliefs and the souls.
On the basis of a Book, every letter of which has become law, he created a spiritual nationality which blended together peoples of every tongue and of every race ...
The idea of the unity of God, proclaimed amidst the exhaustion of fabulous theologies, was in itself such a miracle that upon its utterance from his lips it destroyed all the ancient superstitions ... His endless prayers, his mystic conversations with God, his death and his triumph after death: all these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave him the power to restore a dogma.
This dogma was twofold, the unity of God and the Immateriality of God; the former telling what God is, the latter telling what God is not ...
... "PHILOSOPHER, ORATOR, APOSTLE, LEGISLATOR, WARRIOR, CONQUEROR OF IDEAS, RESTORER OF RATIONAL BELIEFS, of a cult without images; the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is Muhammed.
AS REGARDS ALL STANDARDS BY WHICH HUMAN GREATNESS MAY BE MEASURED, WE MAY WELL ASK, IS THERE ANY MAN GREATER THAN HE?"

Hadith regarding diet
=============================
Follow the Sunnah of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad sallalahu alihi wasallam
=============================
Islam teaches us many etiquette’s of eating and drinking.
The Prophet(PBUH) made a point of developing remarkably clean and healthy eating habits among his followers.
He asked the companions to wash their hands before and after, to start eating with the praise of Allah, to eat using the right hand, not to eat until they really felt hungry, not to eat and drink excessively. Finally, by praising and thanking Allah for the food and drink, for making it easy to swallow and for producing an exit for it.
Eating, like any other act of a Muslim, is a matter of worship when performed according to the Islamic guidelines. The following are SOME of the many food habits that had been practiced and performed by the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him):
=============================
(1) Never Criticize Any Food
=============================
Food should not be criticized for any reason, despite personal disliking. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) never criticized any food that was offered to him.
“The Prophet (PBUH) never criticized any food (he was invited to) but he used to eat it if he liked the food, and leave it if he disliked it.”
– Sahih Bukhari
=============================
(2) Supplication Before Each Meal
=============================
Since eating, like any other act of a Muslim, is a matter of worship, it begins with the name of Allah.
Muslims are to start their eating by making the following supplication:
“O Allah! Bless the food You have bestowed upon us and protect us from the torment of hell. In the name of Allah we start.” (OR AT LEAST SAY..Bismillah)
– An-Nasa’i
(3) Supplication After Each Meal
After completing the meal, Muslims praise and thank Allah for the blessing that He bestowed upon them. After finishing their meal, Muslims say the following supplication:
“Praise be to Allah the One Who gave us the food and the drinks. Praise be to Him Who made us Muslims.”
(OR AT LEAST SAY..Al-Humdullilah)
– Tirmidhi & Abu Dawud
=============================
(4) Eating Less
=============================
One of the main principles of good health is a balanced diet. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the habit of eating less as a method of preventing sickness and disease. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“Nothing is worse than a person who fills his stomach.
It should be enough for the son of Adam to have a few bites to satisfy his hunger. If he wishes more, it should be: One-third for his food, one-third for his liquids, and one-third for his breath.”
– Tirmidhi & Ibn Majah
=============================
(5) Eating Slowly
=============================
Eating slowly is recommended for health. Slow eating reduces the consumption of food, as it postpones much of the meal to a time when the absorption of nutrients begin to produce physiological signals of satiety.
Slow eating helps in chewing the food well. This results in the exercise of the jaws and mixing of the saliva with food.
Hence, efficient digestion takes place because the food particles are cut into smaller pieces, not requiring as much churning in the stomach or intestine.(less Heartburn)
=============================
(6) Moderation
=============================
The religion of Islam laid down the basis of dietary regulations as well as the limits within which Islam teaches man to enjoy the pleasures of life, including food, in a moderate way, not becoming a slave to his desires and not losing sight of his ultimate spiritual goal.
A Muslim is advised to avoid extremes and to choose a moderate course in all his affairs, including his eating habits.
“O children of Adam! Wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer; eat and drink, but waste not by excess. For Allah loves not the wasters.”
– Al- Qur’an, 7:31
=============================
(7) Sharing
=============================
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), demonstrated to his followers the pleasures of sharing as opposed to over-indulgence in the good things of life.
The sharing of food with neighbors, relatives, friends, the needy, and the destitute is emphasized. Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying:
“He is not a believer who eats to his fill but his neighbor goes without food.”
Sahih Bukhari
Prophet Muhammad elaborated on the duty of the Muslim to suppress greed, especially in eating.
This appears in a very specific situation reported by Ibn Umar, in which the Prophet (PBUH) prohibited anyone taking two dates together before asking permission from his companions (Sahih Bukhari).
=============================
(8) Eating Together
=============================
Eating with others bring about harmony and understanding among people.
People are usually more relaxed when eating in company, this is one reason why families should always try to eat Together, not to mention this is the Sunnah of our Beloved Prophet (PBUH) Your mind is less absorbed in your daily activities and are free of worries.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) brought the attention of Muslims to the importance of eating together
(Note: ‘Eating together’ here does not imply mixed eating by males and females at parties or banquets):
“Eat together and not separately, for the blessing is associated with the company.”
– Ibn Majah
It was also reported that he said, “I do not eat reclining.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5083.
He used to eat using the first three fingers (of his right hand), which is the best way of eating.
See: Zaad al-Ma’aad, 220-222. And Allah knows best.
The Prophet’s guidance regarding diet:
The Prophet (PBUH) used to know what he was eating. He used to eat what was good for him.
He used to eat enough to keep him going, but no so much as to make him fat. Ibn ‘Umar narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said:
“The believer eats in one stomach whilst the kaafir eats in seven.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5081) and Muslim (2060).
He taught his ummah something to protect them from diseases caused by eating and drinking. He said: “The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach.
It is sufficient for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls, to keep him going. If he must do that (fill his stomach), then let him fill one third with food, one third with drink and one third with air.”
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1381), Ibn Maajah (3349); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (2265).
And Allah knows best.
From all that has been mentioned, the importance of healthy eating, a balanced diet and hygiene can be understood in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Islam has stressed on the importance of these things right from the start unlike health authorities etc., which have just recently begun to stress its importance.
This could be counted as just another gem that manifests the perfection of Islam.
