Did Islam began only 1400+ years ago ?
Islam literally means 'submission(to truth)' - Islam is not 'religion' in conventional sense but a 'complete way of life'. Muslims believe that Muhammad(saw) was the final Messenger - and the previous messengers include Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus and many such sent to every nation & every tribe.
Coming back to the question, When did Islam begin ?
Islam is the way of life of first sentient-beings the angels, and the natural-part of all living-things including plants, animals & jinns - and Islam(submission) is also the natural attribute that every single-thing in the universe, possesses - the sun, the stars, planets and every single-atom "submits" to the Only creator. :))
