📆April Fools day in Islamic perspective

According to the dictionary, April Fools’ Day is a day for practical jokes, but in many places those jokes take the form of lies.
⭕Islam condemns lying. Good people, in general, consider it a vice. If lying is originally forbidden, then April Fools’ would consequently be forbidden because of the unwarranted dismay and chagrin it causes, even if it is for just one hour. It plays with people’s trust, and is a pure emulation of vice.
#Moreover, telling lies is bad conduct. It is not proper for righteous people and true believers; rather, it is a sign of hypocrisy, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The hypocrite has three characteristics: he tells lies, breaks his promise, and breaches the trust”
📚(Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said, “One is not considered a true believer till he abandons lying for fun and arguing even if he was telling the truth”
✔(Ahmad and At-Tabarani).
Several Prophetic hadiths warned the Muslims against frightening others seriously or jokingly. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said, “It is not permissible for anyone to frighten a Muslim”
📚(Sunan Abu Dawud)
Consequently, lying is forbidden in any form, and on this occasion (April Fools’ Day) it is forbidden for four reasons:
■1- The prohibition of lying which is confirmed by the Qur’an and the Sunnah.
■2- The unwarranted grief or fear it may bring on a person or his entire family, even if only for one hour.
■3- The betrayal of trust it entails
■4- The emulation of a silly custom that is not ours, that of lying.
Sometimes the idea of telling a lie on this day may be obnoxious to the whole society, not only to a person.

Speaking the truth

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “I enjoin you to be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man may continue to tell the truth and endeavor to be truthful until he is recorded with Allah as a speaker of truth. And beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to Hell. A man may continue to tell lies and endeavor to tell lies until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.” (Muslim, 2607)
,, Allah (Subhânau wa Ta’âla) loves those who choose to speak the truth above all else. An honest person is not only exalted in the eyes of Allah (Subhânau wa Ta’âla) but in the eyes of society as well. Honesty and truthfulness are necessary components of a good character and a good Muslim. Islam enjoins us to follow the path of righteousness which is directed by the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
,, Allah Subhânau wa Ta’âla says:
“O believers! Have fear of Allah and be with those who are truthful in word and deed.” [Surat At-Tauba, Ayat 119]
,, Speaking the truth is a direct doorway to Paradise. In Islam, dishonesty and faith cannot go hand in hand – a believer cannot be a liar and claim to have strong faith (Imaan).

,, Hubble’s Law
For thousands of years, astronomers wrestled with basic questions concerning the universe. Until the early 1920’s, it was believed that the universe had always been in existence; also, that the size of the universe was fixed and not changing. However, in 1912, the American astronomer, Vesto Slipher, made a discovery that would soon change astronomers’ beliefs about the universe. Slipher, noticed that the galaxies were moving away from earth at huge velocities. These observations provided the first evidence supporting the expanding-universe theory.
,, In 1916, Albert Einstein formulated his General Theory of Relativity that indicated that the universe must be either expanding or contracting. Confirmation of the expanding-universe theory finally came in 1929 in the hands of the well known American astronomer Edwin Hubble.
,, Yet, astonishingly well before telescopes were even invented and well before Hubble published his Law, Our beloved Prophet Muhammad(Sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) used to recite a verse of the Quran to his companions that ultimately stated that the universe is expanding.
,, Sura Az-Zariyat, Ayat 47
We built the universe with great might, and We are certainly expanding it.
,,The Quran mentioned such a fact centuries before the invention of the first telescope, at a time when there was primitive knowledge in science, is considered remarkable. This is more so considering that, like many people in his time, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) happened to be illiterate and simply could not have been aware of such facts by himself. Could it be that he had truly received divine revelation from the Creator and Originator of the universe?
,, The Big Bang Theory
,, Soon after Hubble published his theory, he went on to discover that not only were galaxies moving away from the Earth, but were also moving away from one another. This meant that the universe happened to be expanding in every direction, in the same way a balloon expands when filled with air. Hubble’s new findings placed the foundations for the Big Bang theory.
The Big Bang theory states that around 12-15 billion years ago the universe came into existence from one single extremely hot and dense point, and that something triggered the explosion of this point that brought about the beginning of the universe. The universe, since then, has been expanding from this single point.

Surat Al-Anbiyaa, Ayat 30
Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were once one mass then We split them apart? And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
