Imam Karim AbuZaid Answers:
When Allah wanted Adam to repent from committing the sin of eating from the tree, Allah taught Adam what to say to gain that repentance.
Adam learned the words with which, if he would supplicate and invoke Allah asking to accept his repentance, Allah would accept his repentance.

In Surah al’Araf 7:23 Allah mentioned these words,

Allah loves to be praised with the words which He revealed in the Quran and the Sunnah.
It’s not just about the Arabic Language. It’s about using Du’a from the Qur’an and Sunnah.
We should learn the du’a which Allah revealed in the #Quran and revealed to His messenger to express in his own words. the Supplications in the #Sunnahare tremendous.
We should strive to learn the Dua from Quran and Sunnah in Arabic.
This is the ideal.
But lets say you don’t know Arabic and you want to make #Dua tonight. You’re having an issue and you need to call upon Allah now. Go ahead and do it but don’t utter the words. Just say it with your heart. Don't speak it. Speak with your heart, during the Salah.

وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ الْكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَالٌ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٌ لِتَفْتَرُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ . مَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: “This is lawful and this is forbidden,” so as to invent lies against Allah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allah will never prosper. A passing brief enjoyment (will be theirs), but they will have a painful torment.”
جو جھوٹ تمہاری زبانوں پر آجائے اس کی بنا پر یوں نہ کہا کرو کہ یہ چیز حلال ہے اور یہ حرام ہے کہ تم اللہ پر جھوٹ افترا کرنے لگو۔ جو لوگ اللہ پر جھوٹ افترا کرتے ہیں وہ کبھی فلاح نہیں پاتے۔ (ایسے جھوٹ کا) فائدہ تو تھوڑا سا ہے مگر (آخرت میں) ان کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہے۔

It was narrated from Saalim bin 'Abdullah that his father said:
"The Messenger of Allah said:
"There are three at whom Allah will not look on the Day of
Resurrection:

01 The one who disobeys his parents,
02 the woman who imitates men in her outward appearance,
03 and the cuckold.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,
[ "When two Muslims fight each other with their swords, both the killer and the slain will be in Hell."
I said, "O Messenger of Allah ! It is all right for the killer but what about the slain ?"
The Prophet replied, "He surely had the intention to kill his killer ." ]

(( حُرْمَةُ دِمَاءُ الْمُسْلِمِين 9 ))
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَليهِ وَ آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
[ إِذْاَ الْتَقَى الْمُسْلِمَانِ بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا فَالْقَاتَلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ في النَّارِ
فَقْلتُ يا رَسُولَ اللهَ هذا الْقَاتِلُ فما بَالُ الْمَقْتُولِ
قال إِنْهُ كاَنَ حَرِيصًا على قَتْلِ صَاحِبِهِ ]

Today's a day to wake up and do something different. It's a day to face the sea. It's a day to get rid of your enemy. Not your eternal enemy, you can't get rid of him. You have to fight him until death. It's time to get rid of the enemy within you. Your bad habits that limit you. That stop you from getting closer to Allah. Imagine you are at the sea shore and imagine your bad habits are behind you, gaining on you, wanting to overpower you and you are running away from them. Turn to Allah, to help you conquer them. To cross the sea and put an ocean between you and them, with Allah's help. Knowing that he is Al Samee' Al Baseer ( The all Hearing, The all seeing). He is watching you after you have asked Him to help you. He could have split the sea for Moosa alayhi salam without him having to do anything. But He wanted him to do a small action with faith and determination. He is waiting for us to make that change in ourselves, to rid ourselves off laziness and He by His mercy will bless us and help us.

Let's run everyday and ask Allah to save us. The following dua comes to mind.
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيْثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِيْ شَأْنِيْ كُلَّهُ وَلاَ تَكِلْنِيْ إِلَى نَفْسِيْ طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ.
‘O Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.’
