IS MUHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM) REALLY A PROPHET OF GOD ALSO FOR THE CHRISTIANS? The latest trending debate between the Christians and Muslims is wheter Muhammad is really a prophet of God to the Christians as well or not. What happens in these debates is that Christians put forward a big bunch of arguments against Muhammad, (Peace be upon him) and alleged that Muhammad committed sins and then they ask the Muslims that how can he be a Prophet of God after all this? Then the Muslims spend hours answering all these allegations one by one. That sounds like an endless debate:) Also quite counter-productive as all this ends without any conclusion and creates more chaos and confusion.
Final Prophet and Messenger of God Muhammed (peace be upon him). This is the main argument that Christians brothers and sisters put forward for denying the prophethood of final Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad (Peace be upon him). If God wills, in this post will discuss a conclusive answer to the above questions through a brief Comparative study. Muslims believe that Prophets and Messengers may make minor mistakes, but can not commit any major sins and the Muslims believe that the final Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the other prophets of God did not commit any major sins.The Christians believe in the theory of fallen prophets and fallen angels. The Christians believe that both the prophets as well as the angels commit sins. So when the Bible says that someone is a Prophet, the question that whether he committed sins or not, becomes irrelevant for the Christians. So even if the Christians keep their present belief that Muhammad (Peace be upon him) committed sins and Muslims keep their own belief that prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the other Prophets did not commit any major sins, the Christians still can not deny the Prophethood of Muhammad, (Peace be upon him) based on this one argument. Because they already believe in the theory of fallen prophets, theory of Prophets and Messengers of God, committing sins.
So the Question whether Muhammad (Peace be upon him) committed any sins or not becomes irrelevent for our Christian brothers and sisters. The main question that the Christian brothers and sisters should now think about is, what does the Bible say about Muhammad (Peace be upon him) ?
Lets analyze what does the Bible say about prophet Muhammad. I will quote some references about prophet Muhammad from both the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. You can read more references about final Prophet and Messenger (Peace be upon him) Muhammad in our post, Prophet Muhammed in the Bible. Prophet Muhammed in the Old Testament 'Muhammad' (Peace be upon him) is Prophesied in the book of (Isaiah chapter 29 verse 12) : ".. And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned." 
When Archangel Gabrail (Jibreel) commanded 'Muhammad' (Peace be upon him) by saying 'Iqraa' mraning: 'Read', he replied, "I am not learned." ! Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is mentioned by name in the (Song of Solomon chapter 5 verse 16) : ".. Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem.""His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem."
In the 'Hebrew' language im is added for respect. Similarely im is added after the name of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) to make it "Muhammadim". In English translation they have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) as "altogether lovely", but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet 'Muhammad', (Peace be upon him) is yet present.

All the prophecies mentioned in the Old Testament regarding Muhammad, (Peace be upon him) besides applying to the Jews also hold good for the Christians. Prophet Muhammed in the New Testament :
(Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 7) :
"..Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you".
"Ahmed" or "Muhammad" meaning : "the one who praises" or "the praised one" is almost the translation of the Greek word Periclytos. In the (Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and 16:7). The word "Comforter" is used in the English translation for the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend rather than a comforter. Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos. Jesus (Peace be upon him) actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the Greek word Paraclete refers to the final Prophet Muhammad, (Peace be upon him) who is a mercy for all creatures. Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit. They fail to realise that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (peace be upon him) departs will the Comforter come. The Bible states that the Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time of Jesus (peace be upon him), in the womb of Elizabeth, and again when Jesus (peace be upon him) was being baptised, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none other than Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). (Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 12-14) : "..I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me".
The Sprit of Truth, spoken about in this prophecy referes to none other than Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) Now we leave it up to you to read and analyze these and the other prophecies in our post Prophet Muhammad in the Bible and decide for yourself whether Muhammad is a prophet of God or not. You do not need to tell us or anyone else out there what you decided, just be honest to yourself and ask God Almighty to guide you to the truth no matter whatever it maybe. Praise be to Allah.
Firstly:
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to strive hard in worship during the last ten days of Ramadaan as he never did at any other time, praying, reading Qur’aan and making du’aa’.
Al-Bukhaari and Muslim narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that when the last ten days of Ramadaan came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would stay up at night and would wake his family up, and would abstain from marital relations.
Ahmad and Muslim narrated that he used to used to strive hard in worship during the last ten days of Ramadaan as he never did at any other time.
Secondly:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enjoined staying up and praying on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Agreed upon.
This hadeeth indicates that it is prescribed to observe Laylat al-Qadr by spending the night in prayer.
Thirdly:
One of the best du’aa’s that may be recited on Laylat al-Qadr is that which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught to ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her). Al-Tirmidhi narrated, and classed the report as saheeh, that ‘Aa’ishah said: “I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, if I know which night is Laylat al-Qadr, what should I say on that night?’ He said, ‘Say: Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni (O Allaah, You are forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me).”
Fourthly:
With regard to specifying which night of Ramadaan is Laylat al-Qadr, this needs specific evidence, but the odd-numbered nights during the last ten nights are more likely than others, and the night of the twenty-seventh is the most likely to be Laylat al-Qadr, because that is mentioned in the ahaadeeth.
Fifthly:
With regard to innovations, they are not permissible during Ramadaan or at other times. It was proven that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever innovates anything in this matter of ours that is not part of it will have it rejected.” According to another report, “Whoever does any action that is not part of this matter of ours will have it rejected.”
We know of no basis for the celebrations that are held during some nights of Ramadaan. The best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the worst of matters are those which are innovated (bid’ah).
And Allaah is the Source of strength. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
