CAIRO – A new census found Tuesday, December 11, that Islam is the fastest-growing religion in Britain and Wales.
“Religion is difficult to define and difficult to measure,” Nick Spencer, research director at theology think-tank Theos, told The Daily Mail.
“The census measures religious identification, not beliefs or practice. It's about what people call themselves, and which group they wish to identify with.”

Among British people, there were 33.2million claiming to be Christian, down from 37.3million in 2001. The figure made up just 59 per cent of the population.
The census put the total population of England and Wales at 56.1million, a seven percent increase from 2001; and 55 percent of the increase is due to migration.
It found that the proportion of Muslims also rose from 3.0 percent to 4.8 per cent, becoming the fastest growing religion in Britain.

The statistics emerged as the Archbishop of Canterbury claimed that English cathedral congregations had grown dramatically in recent years, debunking the 'cliché' that the Church of England is fading away.
The proportion of Muslims also rose from 3.0 per cent to 4.8 per cent, becoming the fastest growing faith in UK.
The 2001 census put the number of British Muslims at nearly 2.5 million.
The third most popular religion in Britain was Hinduism, making up 1.5 percent of the population, while 0.8 percent were Sikhs and 0.5 percent Jewish.
Nearly 180,000 claimed to be followers of the Jedi religion featured in Star Wars - down from 2001, when around 400,000 jokingly put the faith down on their census form.
“These figures show that we have a plural religious landscape, but that doesn't mean we're atheists,” Spencer said.
“Digging deeper, we see that even those who say they have no religion often have a variety of spiritual beliefs, but they don't want to associate these to religious institutions.”
Atheism
The census also found that the number of atheists was on the rise in Britain.
It found that 25.1 percent of people identify themselves as non-believers up from 14.8 per cent a decade earlier.
The numbers of non-believers have been on the rise across Europe and the United States.
A 2005 survey published in Encyclopedia Britannica put non-believers at about 11.9 percent of the world's population.
An official European Union survey recently said that 18 percent of the bloc's population do not believe in God.
The Washington Post reported in September that atheist movements were growing across Europe, lobbying hard for political clout and airtime.
The new census also found that the number of Christians was on decline in Britain.
“In spite of a biased question that positively encourages religious responses, to see such an increase in the non-religious and such a decrease in those reporting themselves as Christian is astounding,” Andrew Copson, chief executive of the British Humanist Association, said.
He said the decline in the number of Christians was 'really significant'.
“Of course these figures still exaggerate the number of Christians overall,” he noted.
“The number of believing, practicing Christians is much lower than this and the number of those leading their lives with no reference to religion much higher.”
There are more than 47,000 churches in Britain, and 42 million Britons, more than 70 percent of the population, consider themselves to be Christian.
In a study released in 2005, the British-based association Christian Research expected the number of Christians attending Sunday service to fall by two thirds over the next three decades.
The study, The Future of The Church, predicted that the total membership of all the Christian denominations to fall from 9.4 percent of the population to only five percent by 2040.
The study also expected that the poor attendance will force some 18,000 churches to close.

Allah, the Almighty has mentioned the word “water” several dozens times in His Great Divine Book; the Glorious Quran. What we are interested here is the latest discovery of the Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto concerning “water’s memory”, and that water stores inside its memory all the events that take place around it! Masaru Emoto performed the first of its kind, pioneering experiments on water. He experimented with few drops of water which he put under various sound frequencies. He noticed that the water particles arrangement differs upon changing the frequency! Perhaps the final experiment Dr. Masaru Emoto did was on Zamzam’s water which he subjected to a stiff and fastidious test. He found out that this water is different than any other type of water on the globe. Interestingly, he noticed that this water has a special interaction and reaction with the Words of Allah, the Almighty; the Glorious Quran recitation on it.
This is a photo of Zamzam water gushing through the rocks. Zamzam water still gush non-stop since thousands of years. This is rather an amazing behavior. Where does Zamzam water come from, while in this barren land of a desert? Does this phenomenon require our deep meditation and thinking?
Perhaps we can comprehend now why it is preferable and encouraged to recite [i.e. verses from the Glorious Quran] on water with the hope to cure the patient! Water is the only element in the nature that is distinct in nature than all other elements due to its physical and chemical properties that makes it unanimously, the “Master” of all other elements in the nature.
Emoto brought few drops of Zamzam’s water and recited the “Basmaleh” [In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, Most Merciful] in Arabic and noticed that the arrangement of the water particles became prettier! In fact, these drops of water formed unique shapes as if they were drawn by a fantastically skilled artist.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The strong man is not the one who can throw another down. The strong man is the one who can keep hold of himself when he is angry.” [ Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim ]
We should seek refuge with Allah when we become angry. Two men began hurling insults at one another in the presence of the Prophet (peace be upon him), each one insulting the other with such anger that his face had turned red. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “I know a word that if one were to say it, what stresses him would go away. If he would but say: ‘I seek refuge with Allah from Satan the Accursed'.” [ Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim ]
The Prophet (peace be upon him) advised us not to speak when we are angry. He said: “If one of you gets angry, he should be quiet.” [ Musnad Ahmad ]
The Prophet (peace be upon him) gave us other practical advice. He said: “If one of you gets angry and he is standing, then he should sit down until his anger subsides. If it does not, then he should lie down.” [ Sunan Abî Dâwûd ]
He also said: “Anger is from Satan, and Satan was created from fire. Fire is but extinguished by water, so if one of you gets angry, he should perform wudû'.” [ Sûnan Abî Dâwûd and Musnad Ahmad ]
The Companions relate that the Prophet (peace be upon him) would never became angry for anything. However, if the sanctity of Allah was profaned, then nothing could assuage his anger.” [ Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim ]
The Prophet (peace be upon him) never acted angrily for personal reasons. He never once so much as raised his voice to his servants or his family. Anas relates that he worked as the Prophet's servant for ten years, and not once did the Prophet (peace be upon him) so much as say “ uff ” to him, or ask him when he did something “Why did you do that?” or ask him when he neglected something: “Why didn't you do that?” [ Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim ]

A new study for a tropical bird called "manakins" illustrated that male who wins the grand prize to get the female is the only one who lives with her till death, but after that his counterpart may marry and lives with his widow!!! That sincerity may not be found in human life.
What happens is that the tropical male birds perform a courtship song and dance, but the alpha male gets the girl every time. The dance, dubbed "backwards leapfrog", was filmed in Costa Rica by zoologists from the University of Wyoming.
"At first glance, it appears like a competitive [dance-off] but in fact it is a co-operative pact between buddies" says Dr David McDonald, of Wyoming University. Also he added" As far as I know it is the only example of male-male [mating] co-operation in the animal kingdom".
Hence we can say that there are two males: the (Alfa) who marries the female and the (Beta) who waits till the death of Alfa. Meanwhile the beta spends five years playing second fiddle. But he eventually inherits the mating site.
Here it is nice to say that the male birds' partnership lasts up to five years, during that time, the beta male does not copulate as he has to wait until alpha male dies - he doesn't kick him out. So he may be waiting until he's 10, 15 or even older. In return, he will eventually inherit the mating site and become the alpha himself.
The network of relations by the male decides his role in the courtship song and dance. "As males grow up, they go through a complex network of social interactions, as how well connected a young male is will predict how he will do - whether he becomes an alpha or a beta." says Dr McDonald.
In fact the females don't know the males individually. They map the sites where males are doing really hot performances. But how do the males decide which of them is the alpha? Dr McDonald says" It is not a case of who is a better dancer, what it comes down to is how -well connected- he is among his buddies".
From this study we can conclude that birds have high level of Morality and cooperation which is considered to be evidence that world of birds looks like our world. God be He blessed and exalted says: (There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered.)(Sûrat Al-An’âm- verse38).
Also we can realize that those creatures can think and can distinguish between right and wrong, we see in mankind some people who looks at what others have got of livelihood (wife, money, sons, etc…).
Notice: most of animals and birds are like human as we can find lying, cheating and bluffing in their life, also they can distinguish between Good and evil, so the koranic description is very precise and accurate.
