Eat to Live, Don’t Live to Eat

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلی الله عليه وسلم يأکل المسلم في معی واحد والکافر يأکل في سبعة أمعاء

Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “A Muslim eats in one intestine (i.e. he is satisfied with a little food) while an unbeliever eats in seven intestines (eats much).”

حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ مومن ایک آنت میں (یعنی اعتدال سےکھانا) کھاتا ہے جبکہ کافر سات آنتوں میں (یعنی بہت زیادہ کھانا) کھاتا ہے۔

Abu Huraira reported: The angel Gabriel came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, this is Khadija coming to you with a dish of meat soup, some food, and some drink. When she reaches you, then greet her with peace on behalf of her Lord and myself, and give her glad tidings of a palace in Paradise made of reeds, wherein there will be no commotion or fatigue.”

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ

“Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.”

اے ہمارے پروردگار! ہدایت دینے کے بعد ہمارے دلوں کو کج ٹیڑھے نہ کر دے اور اپنے ہاں سے رحمت عطا فرما۔ بلاشبہ تو ہی سب کچھ عطا کرنے والا ہے۔

O profeta SAAWS disse: "Quem toma banho na sexta-feira, purifica-se, penteia bem o cabelo, se perfuma com o perfume da sua casa, em seguida segue para a oração de Sexta-Feira (Jumuah) e não separa duas pessoas sentadas juntas (na mesquita), Então reza tanto quanto Deus tem decretado para ele (duas genuflexões de saudação da mesquita) e então permanece em silêncio enquanto o Imam está fazendo o seu discurso (Khutbah), todos os seus pecados existentes entre a presente Sexta-Feira e a passada são perdoados." -Bukhari-

Islam Is A Religion Of Peace And Well-Being

The word Islam has the same meaning as "peace" in Arabic. Islam is a religion that came down to offer humanity a life filled with the peace and well-being in which God's eternal mercy and compassion is manifested in the world. God invites all people to accept the moral teachings of the Qur'an as a model whereby mercy, compassion, tolerance and peace may be experienced in the world.

In Qur'an Surat al-Baqara verse 208, this command is given:

You who believe! Enter absolutely into peace (Islam). Do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. He is an outright enemy to you.

As we see in this verse, people will experience well-being and happiness by living according to the moral teaching of the Qur'an.

Faatir : 39

هُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَـئِفَ فِى الاٌّرْضِ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُ وَلاَ يَزِيدُ الْكَـفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ إِلاَّ مَقْتاً وَلاَ يَزِيدُ الْكَـفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ إِلاَّ خَسَاراً

He it is Who has made you successors generations after generations in the earth, so whosoever disbelieves, on him will be his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers adds nothing but hatred of their Lord.
