Ein Mann kam zum Propheten - Möge Allâh ihn in Ehren halten und ihm Wohlergehen schenken - und fragte ihn: „O Gesandter Allâhs, welche Menschen sind Allâh am liebsten und welche Taten sind Allâh am liebsten?“ Da sagte der Gesandte Allâhs:
„Die beliebtesten Menschen bei Allâh dem Hocherhabenen sind diejenigen, die den Menschen am nützlichsten sind. Die beliebteste Tat ist die Freude, die du einem Muslim bereitest, oder dass du ihm eine Bedrängnis erleichterst, für ihn seine Schulden bezahlst oder seinen Hunger stillst. Einem Bruder mit der Erledigung seiner Angelegenheiten zu helfen, ist mir lieber, als sich in diese Moschee von Madîna für einen ganzen Monat zurückzuziehen. Wer seinen Zorn bändigt, dessen Blöße wird Allâh bedecken. Und wer seinen Zorn bändigt, wobei er ihm freien Lauf lassen kann, dessen Herz füllt Allâh am Tage der Auferstehung mit Wohlwollen. Wer seinem Bruder Beistand leistet, bis dieser seine Angelegenheit erledigt, den wird Allâh an dem Tag festigen, an dem andere [ins Höllenfeuer] hinabgleiten.“
