Narration #1
Muhammad bin Seereen narrated from Abu Hurairah (r.a)- and I think he narrated it from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم who said:
❝Love your beloved moderately, perhaps he becomes hated to you someday. And hate whom you hate moderately, perhaps he becomes your beloved someday.❞
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee, and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh Zubair `Alee Zai. Also reported in al-Adab al-Mufrad (1321) as a statement of `Alee رضي الله عنه and it is graded as “Hasan li ghairihee” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
Abū Hurayrāh رضي الله عنه reported:
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Love your beloved moderately, for perhaps he will become hateful to you someday. Hate the one you hate moderately, for perhaps he will become your beloved someday.”

Narration #2
Aslam said: `Umar ibn al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه said:
❝Do not let your love be a total infatuation. Do not let your anger be destruction.❞
I asked: “How is that?” He replied:
❝It is when you love someone, you are infatuated like a child, and when you hate, you desire destruction for your companion.❞
[al-Adab al-Mufrad (1322) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
Zaid ibn Aslam reported:
Umar ibn Al- Khattab رضي الله عنه said, “Let not your love be infatuation and let not your hatred be destruction.” He was asked, “How is this?” Umar said, “When you love someone, you become infatuated like a child. When you hate someone, you love destruction for your companion.”

Abu Huraira (r.a)reported: The Prophet(ﷺ), said, “People whose hearts are like the hearts of birds will enter Paradise.”

An-Nawawi said, “It is interpreted to mean they are those who rely upon ALLAH, or those who have soft hearts.”
