Al - Birr is not just turn your face to qiblah for prayer but it is......when you give your wealth in spite of love for it....(Quran, 2:177)

You cannot attain Al 

- Birr unless you spend of that which you love the most...(Quran, 3:92)

And they feed, for the love of Allah, to needy and the orphan and the captive and (they say), "We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. (Quran, 76:7-8)
