A bus driver converts to Islam
A bus driver converts to Islam
Several years ago an Imam moved to London, United Kingdom. He often took the bus from his home to the downtown area. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the same bus. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a twenty pence (a.k.a 'tuppence') too much change.
As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give the twenty pence back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, "Oh, forget it, it's only tuppence. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from Allah (swt) and keep quiet."
When his stop came, the Imam paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the twenty pence back to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much change". The driver with a smile, replied,"Aren't you the new Imam in this area? I have been thinking lately about going to worship at your Mosque.I just wanted to see what you would do, if I gave you too much change."
When the Imam, stepped off the bus, his knees became weak and soft, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, and held on for support, and looked up to the heavens and cried: "Oh Allah, I almost sold You and Islam for twenty pence!"

"And Allah presents an example of those who believed: the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, "My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people. And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into [her garment] through Our angel, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient." Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) Letter to the christian King of Ethiopia.
"From Muhammad the Prophet of Allah to Negus, King of Ethiopia. Peace be on him who follows the guidance.
I praise Allah Who alone is to be worshipped. He is the Master of the entire universe. He is Sublime. Only He is the haven of peace and security.
I testify that Jesus son of Mary is the spirit of Allah and His word, which He communed to Mary the pious and thus she became the mother of Allah's Prophet Jesus .Thus Allah created him from His spirit and infused it into Mary just as He made Adam with His powerful hand.
Now I invite you to accept the obedience, sympathy, and love of Allah Who is One and Who is without an associate. You should follow me and should believe in the message of Allah which I have brought. I call you and your army towards Allah Who is worthy of all respect and esteem. I have thus discharged my duty of conveying His message and advice. You should accept it, May peace be on the followers of the guidance."
.

The King of Ethiopia reply:
"In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
From Negus Ashama to Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah! and mercy and blessing from Allah beside Whom there is no god.
I have received your letter in which you have mentioned about Jesus and by the Lord of heaven and earth, Jesus is not more than what you say.
We fully acknowledge that with which you have been sent to us and we have entertained your cousin and his companions. I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah, true and confirming (those who have gone before you), I pledge to you through your cousin and surrender myself through him to the Lord of the worlds." [Za'd Al- Ma'ad 3/61]
Negus later died in Rajab 9 A.H. shortly after this .. the Prophet (Pbuh) told Muslims about his death in the same day .. while the news arrived after along time later.

"What's it like to be blind?"
I get asked this question in almost every city of every country I've ever been in.
"What's it like to be blind?"
I never get offended by this question, I think that if I were sighted I would probably ask the same question. My reply is:
"I'm not blind, I just can't see."
This answer gets a laugh from the crowd and a smile from myself but I've never actually liked that answer, it always sounded like a copout to me. So, now, I'm going to try my best to answer that question in the best way that I know how.
When I wasn't a Muslim, I didn't really think about my not being able to see to much, I just did what ever I wanted. After becoming a Muslim, I started to ponder that question and being asked it countless times I started to think, hmmm, how can I describe being blind? It would be easy to say, it's blackness all the time but I don't like that answer either. After all, how do I know what blackness looks like. I've never been able to see so I have nothing to compare blackness to. I would describe it this way.
Did you ever see an adult cover the eyes of a child when they want the child not to see something that isn't acceptable? Well, that's how I feel. I feel like ALLAH covered my eyes from something unacceptable. Sometimes, like that small child I may want to struggle against the covering over of my eyes and that's where the patience comes in. There are some things that I'd like to see of course. But, the idea that ALLAH HIMSELF decided to cover my eyes just like the protective adult covering the eyes of a small child fills my heart with an unexplainable joy. Some people may say:
"How can you say that ALLAH loves you when He made you not be able to see?"
My reply to them is simple, ALLAH loves me so much that He is shielding and protecting my eyes from seeing the hardships and the suffering of this world. And maybe, just maybe, He wants to be the first one that I am allowed to see. I really love that trade. I don't know if I've answered that question, but I did the best that I could. I hope you can SEE what I'm saying. Take care and of course, stay blessed.

THE HELIO-CENTRIC SYSTEM
THE HELIO-CENTRIC SYSTEM
He created the heavens and the Earth with truth. He wraps the night around the day and wraps the day around the night, and has made the Sun and Moon subservient, each one running for a specified term. Is He not indeed the Almighty, the Endlessly Forgiving? ( Surat az-Zumar, 5)
In the above verse the movement of the Earth is described by the word “yukawwiru,” which comes from root verb “takwir,” meaning “to cover up a spherical body,” in the way that the rotation of the Earth gives rise to night and day, like the winding of a turban. In addition to the spherical shape of the Earth the word is also the most accurate expression of its movement around the Sun. Because of the Earth’s spherical shape and its movement around the Sun, the Sun always illuminates one side of the Earth while the other is in darkness. The side in shadow is shrouded by the darkness of night, to be replaced by the brightness of day when the Sun rises. The positions of the Sun and Earth are revealed as follows in Surah Ya Sin:
And the Sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing. And We have decreed set phases for the Moon, until it ends up looking like an old palm spathe. It is not for the Sun to overtake the Moon nor for the night to outstrip the day; each one is swimming in a sphere. (Surah Ya Sin, 38-40)
The movements of the Sun and Moon in verse 40 of Surah Ya Sin are described by the Arabic word "yasbahoona," meaning “flowing, passing or swimming.” This word refers to an action performed by someone on their own. Someone acting according to this verb continues to perform it alone, with no intervention from anyone else. The above verses may therefore be referring to the Sun’s independent movement in the universe, independent of any other celestial body. (Allah knows the truth.) It is impossible for us to see or follow the movement of the Sun with our own eyes. It is only possible to determine that movement using special technological equipment. As stated in verse 39 of Surah Ya Sin, in addition to rotating around its own axis once every 26 days, the Sun also moves through its own course.
The verse also reports that the Sun is not allowed to “overtake the Moon,” and the Qur’an thus states that the Sun and Moon do not revolve around the same body, as astronomers put it. At the same time, the verse makes it clear that there is no connection between the motion responsible for night and day and the movement of the Sun and Moon. (Allah knows the truth.)
Until the 16th century it was thought that the Earth was the center of the universe. This view is known as the “geo-centric model,” from the Greek words geo (Earth) and centron (center). This belief was questioned by the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus in 1543 in his book De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium (Of the Revolutions of Heavenly Spheres), in which he suggested that the Earth and the other planets revolve around the Sun. But as a result of observations using a telescope performed by Galileo Galilei in 1610, it was scientifically established that the Earth revolves around the Sun. Since it had hitherto been thought that the Sun revolved around the Earth, most scholars of the time rejected Copernicus’ theory. The famous astronomer Johannes Kepler's views setting out the movements of the planets confirmed the helio-centric model in the 16th and 17th centuries. In this model, whose name comes from the words Helios (Sun) and centron (center), the Sun is the center of the universe, rather than the Earth. Other heavenly bodies also revolve around the Sun. Yet this was all revealed 1400 years ago in the Qur’an.
By saying that the Earth was the center of the universe, the ancient Greek astronomer Ptolemy was responsible for the geo-centric idea of the universe that prevailed for hundreds of years. For that reason, at the time of the revelation of the Qur’an, nobody knew that the Earth-centered model that accounted for the formation of day and night in terms of the movement of the Sun was incorrect. On the contrary, all the stars and planets were regarded as revolving around the Earth. Despite these prevalent errors of the time, the Qur’an contains many expressions that agree with the scientific facts regarding day and night:
By the Sun and its morning brightness, and the moon when it follows it, and the day when it displays it, and the night when it conceals it (Surat ash-Shams, 1-4)
As set out in the above verse, day, the brightness of the Sun, is the result of the movement of the Earth. It is not the movement of the Sun that is responsible for night and day. In other words, the Sun is immobile in terms of night and day. The information in the Qur’an refutes the thesis that the Earth is fixed while the Sun revolves around it. The Qur’an is clearly descended from the presence of our Lord, He Who is unfettered by space and time. As science and technology advance more and more examples of the compatibility between the Qur’an and science are coming to light. This is set out in another verse from the Qur’an:
There is instruction in their stories for people of intelligence. This is not a narration which has been invented but confirmation of all that came before, a clarification of everything, and a guidance and a mercy for people who believe. (Surah Yusuf, 111)

Overpowering Heart of a Believer
Overpowering Heart of a Believer
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “I can see the devils among the Jinn and mankind running away from Umar.” [Sunan at-Tirmidhi]
“Obeying Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) revives and gives life to the heart, making it strong and firm. Obeying Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) cleans the dirt which is on the heart and makes it shine. Continuous obedience of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) makes the heart clean, pure, luminous and as shiny as a mirror. Strange and amazing are the effects of this illuminated heart.
“When a Shaytaan approaches a person with such a heart, then the light of that person’s heart hits the Shaytaan in the same way that meteorites (shooting stars) thrown at them by the angels in the heavens do, when they try eavesdropping on the conversations going on in the heavens. The Shayateen fear these types of hearts as much as a wolf fears a lion; in fact, even more than this.
“Sometimes, when believers with such hearts cross the path of a Shaytaan and the Shaytaan is assaulted by this light, then other Shayateen rush to sympathize with him and ask each other what happened. They are told that some human overwhelmed him. They say: ‘You appear to have been overcome by the ‘evil eye’ (the look) of a believer.’
“The light from a heart illumined by Allah’s obedience has such an effect, that even Shayateen made of fire begin to burn in its intensity.” [Dawaa-e-Shafi by Imaam Ibn al-Jawzi]

Why there are only four gospels?
There were many gospels written such as the gospels of Thomas, Philip, Peter, Ebionites, Hebrews, Nazarenes, James ... etc. Why only four gospels? Why not more? Why not less?
Irenaeus the Christian Bishop of Lyon in 180AD answers:
"There are four corners of the earth (a flat earth), four winds, four pillars therefore, there must be four Gospels."
That's why Christians believe in four gospels only :)

"No book of ancient times has come down to us exactly as it left the hands of its author - all have been in some way altered. The material conditions under which a book was spread before the invention of printing (1440), the little care of the copyists, correctors, and glossators for the text, so different from the desire of accuracy exhibited to-day, explain sufficiently the divergences we find between various manuscripts of the same work. To these causes may be added, in regard to the Scriptures, exegetical difficulties and dogmatical controversies. To exempt the scared writings from ordinary conditions a very special providence would have been necessary, and it has not been the will of God to exercise this providence. More than 150,000 different readings have been found in the older witnesses to the text of the New Testament- which in itself is a proof that Scriptures are not the only, nor the principal, means of revelation."
