If a person's prayers are not preventing him from corruption, then he is not performing the prayers as Allah has commanded. Allah has stated in the Qur'aan, "Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater." Al-'Ankaboot (29):45

It was narrated from Jabir that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): “Do you think that if I offer the prescribed Salat, observe fast (the month of) Ramadan, regard as permissible that which is lawful and regard as forbidden that which is unlawful, and I do not do any more than that, I will enter Paradise?” He (peace be upon him) said: “Yes.” He said: “By Allah, I shall not do any more than that.”

Islam is the religion of kindness. This does not contradict your right to feel angry when people are oppressed, suffering and have a lot of injustices done to them.
Kindness does not mean you give away you rights. Islam teaches us to lead the way in kindness and Mercy.
