On Saturday 1st November 2014, the Islamic Education and Research Academy (iERA) were invited to attend an event by TIES with the aim of helping organisations working with new Muslims to network and collaborate.
The event was held in Manchester at the British Muslim Heritage Centre with the theme being “to build a brighter future for new Muslims in the UK”.
Approximately 20 organisations from across the UK came together to showcase their projects and initiatives for new Muslims. Hamza Andreas Tzortzis, Head of Research & Education at iERA had the honour of presenting our work and services catering to new Muslims through the Muslim Now programme.
Other delegates for this event included the Islamwise (Birmingham) and the Manchester New Muslim Network, as well as more recent initiatives from dedicated individuals who arrange regular local study circles for new Muslims.
Commenting on this ambitious initiative, Steeve Brador, lead of Muslim Now said, “We would like to thank TIES for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to present our work during the event and network with other organisations who are also dedicated to developing new Muslims. We really appreciated the opportunity and hope to see further collaboration that will benefit new Muslims all across the UK and beyond.”
