The story of the Son and Father in Court

An old father came to the Judge in court complaining about his son.

He said to the Judge, "Your Honor, I am submitting a complaint to you."

The Judge asked him, "Against whom?"

He said, "Against my son"

The Judge looked at his fellow judges, surprised. The Judge replied to him, "What is the content of the complaint and what is your complaint."

The father said, "I want to take a monthly allowance from my son"

The Judge said to the father: "This is your right."

The father continued, "Although I am very rich, I want to take a monthly allowance from my son."

The Judge was also very surprised. He took his son's details and his name and ordered the son to be brought in and had the son stand in front of his father.

The Judge said to the son, "Is this your father?" The son said, "Yes."

The Judge then asked , "Did you know that your father filed a complaint demanding a monthly allowance? And it's an amount very, very, very small of 10 dinars? This is what your father demands. "

The son answered "How can my father request (this amount) from me when he owns real estate and land and is very, very rich? How can he ask for this (insignificant) amount? If my father saw this amount on the ground, he would have never taken it."

The Judge said to the son," That's what your father requested."

The father said, "Your Honor, if you decide upon this amount for me, I will collect it monthly and never leave it."

The Judge called the father and issued his ruling on the son. He said, "the court ruled on so-and-so, the son of so-and-so, meaning the son, by giving an amount of 10 dinars per month as a monthly allowance to the father.

This amount is according to the father's request and to be given for life without interruption."

And before the father and his son came out of the courtroom, the Judge called the father and in front of his son asked him, "Will you allow me to ask you a question?"

The father said to the judge, "go ahead". The judge then asked, "why did you do that and asked for this small amount although you are a rich man and owner of real estate and don't need that small amount?"

The father answered while crying profusely, "I miss my son and do not see him. I am attached to him. He does not sit with me nor asks about me. He has not the least concern about me nor does he talk to me.

So I filed this complaint. This is the exact reason, nothing more, nothing less. It's enough for me that I will see him once every month."

So the Judge also started crying and he said to the father, "By Allah, by Allah, if you had told me this at first, I would have ordered his imprisonment and flogging.

The Judge turned to the son and he said to him, "By Allah, you will not not enjoy nor succeed without the pleasure of the parents, even if you owned all the money in the world. And you will not smell the scent of heaven."

May Allah have mercy on the deceased mothers and fathers.
