Christians read Qur'an 38:5 off context, they should start reading from 38:2-16, not only Qur'an 38:5.
Allah is telling us what the false worshippers same as Christians said to prophet Muhammad (PBUH) they said;
"he wants us to leave our gods and worship only one God. Allah responded to them from verse 38:8-12
The truth has come and falsehood has vanished, indeed falsehood is a vanish thing!
