When we hear the Quran, we should reflect on the meanings. The Quran should not become a replacement for pop songs that we used to listen to before. Nowadays people buy recordings of their favorite reciters for the beauty of their voice, and listening to the Quran has become more of a musical thing. We are entertained by music so much that sometimes when the reciter is reading, we can hear people in the background chanting, "Allah! Allah! Allah!" as though it is a pop show! This is not the way in which we should listen to the Quran, and Allah tells us, "Will they not reflect on the meanings?" Dr Bilal
