In order to achieve social progression and community cohesion, it is pivotal that different groups within our society are able to debate their differences without abusing each other’s beliefs and values.   One strategic way of tackling the current rise of anti-Muslim hatred and the attempts to criminalise aspects of normative Islam, is to intellectually challenge those who harbour these views.      We need your help to defend Islam!      We need your support to raise £3,800 to help cover venue, printing, promotional and other logistical costs for the ‘Don’t Hate, Debate!’ campaign insha’Allah.   With the permission of Allah and your support, this is easily achievable. Public Debate   A public debate will take place on Friday 16th October 2015 in London. It will be formatted as a cross-panel debate with prominent academics, journalists and activists on the topic of ‘Islam, extremism and the conveyor belt theory’.     2. Educational Material   An educational essay will be produced by our Education and Research department on how Islam deals with extremism within religion. This essay will be distributed to attendees on the day of the debate to help them understand that believing in Islam as a comprehensive belief system does not lead to violence.       3. Helping Dawah Teams around the country  In addition, this essay will be formatted into a dawah booklet, which will be available for individuals and community groups to order from our website. This essay booklet can then be used to distribute in local areas as part of community outreach, events and activities. 4. Public and Media Awareness We are corresponding with journalists from the BBC, The Guardian, Buzz Feed, Huffington Post UK, Channel 4, Islam Channel and Russia Today, amongst other reputable media outlets to broadcast the upcoming debate.   CLICK HERE TO DONATE NOW
