The Spiritual Eye:
I'm in transit on my way back home from Hajj and was reflecting on a little known fact about brother Malcolm. His Hajj in April of 1964 represented a profound transformation in his life, but he knew he needed to maintain his spiritual momentum to continue being an effective leader. What many people don't know is that he went back to Makkah for Umrah (i.e. The lesser pilgrimage) in September of that same year. When asked why so soon, he said he needed to "sharpen his spiritual eye." These are trying times for anyone involved in social change, and your spiritual fuel needs to always be full. Take regular time out for prayer to settle your heart in the midst of chaos.
