If you ever wondered where the ox and the donkey come from

‏‎Calling Christians‎‏
If you ever wondered where the ox and the donkey come from in the ahistorical nativity scene, it's based on an error in the Greek Septuagint (Old Testament) from Habakkuk 3:2 -
"ἐν μέσῳ δύο ζῴων"
Which is read as "in the midst of two animals".
Whereas the Hebrew reads:
"בְּקֶ֚רֶב שָׁנִים֙"
That is in English, "in the midst of the years".
Scribes then had to make sense of this in the Greek text and so combined it with Isaiah 1:3 which reads:
"The ox knows its master,
the donkey its owner’s manger,
but Israel does not know,
my people do not understand.”
I'm not sure though why Catholics still hold to this "prophecy" when the error is clearly based on a translation corruption of what they consider to be scripture.
