Praying on the Prophet (peace be upon him) is a virtuous act and there are so many rewards that are gained by sending our salutations and blessings on him.

Praying on the Prophet (peace be upon him) is a virtuous act and there are so many rewards that are gained by sending our salutations and blessings on him.

These rewards include:

1. You will receive ten blessings from Allah

2. You will be forgiven ten of your sins

3. You will be raised 10 degrees in status

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever sends salah upon me once, Allah (SWT) will send salah upon him tenfold, and will erase ten sins from him, and will raise him ten degrees in status. (Sunan an-Nasa'i 1297)

4. The Angels will convey your salutations to the Prophet

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Allah (SWT) has angels who travel around on Earth conveying to me the Salams of my Ummah.'" (Sunan an-Nasa'i 1282)

5. The Prophet will return your salam

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If any one of you greets me, Allah returns my soul to me and I respond to the greeting. (Sunan Abi Dawud 2041 (Hasan by Al-Albani))

6. Your dua after sending salutations will have a higher probability of being answered

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) heard a person supplicating during prayer. He did not mention the greatness of Allah, nor did he invoke blessings on the Prophet (ﷺ).

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: He made haste.

He then called him and said either to him or to any other person: If any of you prays, he should mention the exaltation of his Lord in the beginning and praise Him; he should then invoke blessings on the Prophet (ﷺ); thereafter he should supplicate Allah for anything he wishes. ( Sunan Abi Dawud 1481 (Sahih by Al Albani))

7. It will not be a source of remorse for you on Judgment Day

he Prophet said: “No group gather in a sitting in which they do not remember Allah, nor sent Salat upon their Prophet, except it will be a source of remorse for them. If He wills, He will punish them, and if He wills, He will forgive them.”( Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3380)

8. You will not be of those who will be humiliated

the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:“May the man before whom I am mentioned - and he does not send Salat upon me - be humiliated. (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3545 (Sahih by Al Albani))

9. You will not be counted as being stingy or a miser

the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The stingy person is the one before whom I am mentioned, and he does not send Salat upon me.” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3546 (Sahih by Al Abani))

10. You will be counted from those nearest to the Prophet on Judgment Day (i.e intercession)

Allah's Messenger said: "The person closest to me on the Day of Judgment is the one who sent the most Salat upon me." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 484 (Sahih by ibn Hibbaan & Hasan by al-Haafiz ibn Hajar))
