The prophet Muhammad peace be upon him used to sit with poor people teaching them Quran and talking to them about Islam in the first period of the coming of Islam , among those poor people were Suhaib and Bilal who were both slaves ,

When some rich famous people converted to Islam , they start sitting with the prophet Muhammad pbuh to know more about this religion , but their pride denied them from sitting in the same place with poor people ..

They came to the prophet and said : ''We belong to the high class of our people and we dont want to sit with poor and slaves so when we come to you to learn about Islam , send them away''

So Allah the almighty sent down those verses :

''And do not send away those who call upon their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking His countenance. Not upon you is anything of their account and not upon them is anything of your account. So were you to send them away, you would [then] be of the wrongdoers(52)And thus We have tried some of them through others that the disbelievers might say, "Is it these whom Allah has favored among us?" Is not Allah most knowing of those who are grateful?(53)''

Alhamdulillah i am muslim ! what great religion !
