IS IT REALLY CHRIST BIRTHDAY??
QURAN::
Most of the dates come in from the grove already ripe by Mid July in Middle East, but occasionally we get some that are still yellow. These yellow dates have to be left out in the heat (not the sun) to finish ripening.
“And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said: "Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!” [Quran 19:23]
Then [the babe 'Īsā (Jesus) or Jibril (Gabriel)] cried unto her from below her, saying: "Grieve not! Your Lord has provided a water stream under you; [Quran 19:24]
"And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you.“ [Quran 19:25]
BIBLICAL::
Jesus' parents came to Bethlehem to register in a Roman census (Luke 2:1-4).
"1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David."
NOTE: [Such censuses were not taken in winter, when temperatures often dropped below freezing and roads were in poor condition.]
we know that shepherds were in the fields watching their flocks at the time of Jesus' birth (Luke 2:7-8).
"7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night."
NOTE: [Shepherds were not in the fields during December.]
