The story of the minister who always says "Perhaps it's (kheir)":
A king once favored a minister and kept him by his side wherever he goes.
This minister used to say: Perhaps it's kheir (perhaps it's for the best), about anything they encounter.
One day, the king was in an accident and one of his fingers got cut.
When the minister heard that, he said "perhaps it's kheir".
The king was furious about the minister's strange response and reaction to the king's painful accident. So he ordered him to be thrown in prison. To that, the minister also said "perhaps it's kheir". Everyone laughed at his response.

After days, the king's convoy was in travel. On the way home he lost his way and couldn't find the rest of his group.
A group of people who worshiped idols found him as they were looking for a man to slaughter in sacrifice to their gods.
The then took him to their village to perform the ritual, but then noticed his missing finger and said: How can we sacrifice an imperfect man? It would be a disgrace. So they let him go.

He went back to his town and the first thing he thought of was his minister's statement that came true, as he would've been dead now if it weren't for his missing finger. He went straight to his minister to tell him what happened.
The minister smiled and told him: and if you hadn't put me in prison, I would've been the man who they sacrifice instead of you.

The lesson: Whatever happens in life, perhaps it is always kheir. Only Allah knows the unseen, and none of us does.
