Not vague. Not symbolic.
But sharp, swift, terrifyingly clear.
“They will exit the religion like an arrow passes through the target.”
The arrow doesn’t hesitate.
It doesn’t pause.
It doesn’t return.
It pierces and vanishes.
That’s how fast the Khawārij depart from Islām.
They are those who:
Declare Muslims to be disbelievers without clear proof.
Rebel against the Muslim rulers in the name of piety.
Shed Muslim blood while chanting “Allāhu Akbar.”
Claim to uphold Islām while destroying its unity.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“They will kill the people of Islām and leave the idol worshippers.”
They are extreme, angry, bitter — with no concern for hikmah, no mercy in their speech, and no loyalty to the jamāʿah of the Muslims.
Every generation of the Ummah has seen this cursed arrow fly:
In the time of ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (رضي الله عنه) — when they made takfīr on him and murdered him.
In the early centuries — when they attacked rulers and accused scholars of kufr.
In our time — through modern extremist groups who bomb markets, masājid, and civilians, claiming to “defend Islām.”
But they are not defenders.
They are traitors with Qur’ān on their tongues but hatred in their hearts.
How can someone claim to love Islām…
Yet slander the scholars?
Accuse Muslims of apostasy?
And turn their swords against those who pray five times a day?
Beware of the sweet-sounding slogans:
Imām al-Barbahārī (d. 329H) said:
“If you find a man making supplication against the ruler, know that he is a person of innovation. If you find a person making supplication for the ruler to be upright, know that he is a person of the Sunnah, if Allah wills”
The Prophet ﷺ said about them:
“The dogs of the Hellfire.”
Yes, dogs of the Fire — despite their Qur’ān, fasting, and “righteous” appearances.
May Allāh protect us from the arrow of the Khawārij.
May He keep us firm upon the path of the Sahābah.
Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:
"If those who give Sadaqah [charity] knows that their Sadaqah falls on Allah (Taʿālā)'s Hand before the hand of the poor, then surely, the joy of giving would be more than the joy of receiving."
