2. If praying 20 makes you miss fajr completely, then you'd be better off not praying Taraweeh. Completing a sunnah at the expense of a fardh is not allowed.
3. If you are feeling tired of standing for all of Taraweeh and know that if you continue you will abandon all of it, then sit down. It is okay sit for Sunnah prayers.
4. Ramadan is not just about praying and fasting. It's about reading Quran, being generous and kind, pursuing other acts of good deeds such as visiting the sick, witnessing a funeral and helping those in need.
5. Your wife and mom also deserve a peaceful Ramadan. Stop expecting special meals. Facilitate their experience with simple but healthy meals.
6. Fasting begins when Fajr comes in, not at sunrise (shuruq).
7. It is disrespectful and irreverent for one to stay up all night wasting time with games, TV shows, chit chatting, hooka-ing, smoking and eating and then sleeping all day.
8. It's okay to turn down social events for private ibadah and reflection.
9. Eat less. It's Ramadan.
10. The essence of Ramadan is to develop taqwa - Allah consciousness - in your heart.
That mental alertness to avoid arguing, wasting time, and committing haram acts is the very skillset Ramadan helps engender in every person's heart. When Ramadan is over, that skill should carry over and impact your life.
