Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is time for us to remove the masks of culture and religious pretension, and to return to sincerity before Allah.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“O you who believe! Why do you say what you do not do? Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that which you do not do.”
(Surah As-Saff 61:2–3)
In spite of our motivational rhetoric, we must admit a painful reality:
there is no genuine brotherhood, and no functional structure of leadership.
Allah reminds us:
“The believers are but brothers, so make reconciliation between your brothers and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.”
(Surah Al-Hujurat 49:10)
Yet what we call “community” today is often nothing more than a congregation—gathered to perform rituals within walls—without the living spirit of unity, responsibility, and social impact.
We move from Jumu’ah to Jumu’ah, from Ramadhan to Ramadhan, from Eid to Eid, and from conference to conference—
discussing religious correctness, while reacting emotionally to global crises.
But where is the transformation?
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The believer to another believer is like a building whose different parts enforce each other.”
(Reported in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
And he ﷺ also said:
“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people.”
(Reported in Al-Mu’jam al-Awsat)
We listen to lectures and attend presentations, yet we do not witness real social progress.
We do not see sustainable institutions.
We do not see organized efforts that address the needs of our families, our youth, and our society.
And most concerning, much of what is called leadership today avoids the essential conversation:
our social responsibility.
Allah commands us clearly:
“And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.”
(Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:2)
And He also says:
“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves.”
(Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:11)
There are serious issues that must be addressed—
but doing so requires a different mindset than what is commonly presented.
It requires sincerity over performance,
substance over symbolism,
and responsibility over rhetoric.
This is not complex.
This is not beyond our reach.
THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE…
IT IS SINCERE INTROSPECTION.
