They object to Islam's prohibition on a Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim.
Yet they themselves prohibit marriage even between certain Christian denominations.

This is because doctrinal unity is, in their view, a prerequisite for the validity of the marriage itself.

Denominational differences are not regarded as a minor issue that can simply be overlooked; rather, they constitute a barrier to the formation of a single family.
If all denominations are equally upon the truth, then why is such marriage prohibited?
And if the prohibition is due to the perceived corruption or invalidity of the other party's beliefs, then what becomes of the claims of “Christian unity”?

More strikingly, in some historical periods, interdenominational marriage became a means of circumventing restrictions on ending a marriage. A spouse seeking separation would sometimes change denomination in order to obtain a divorce.
