WAS JESUS DIVINE?
Or was he a noble Prophet of God?
Christians often point to Jesus (peace be upon him) being crucified, resurrected, and raised up to God as evidence of his unique status.
But what about Elijah?
Elijah did not die; he was taken up to God. (2 Kings 2:11)
Does that make Elijah greater than Jesus? Of course not.
And what about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ?
He was not crucified, nor was he raised up to heaven in the same way. Yet he was chosen by God as His final Prophet and Messenger.
So perhaps the real question is not:
“Who experienced the most extraordinary event?”
But rather:
What does God Himself say about the status and mission of His Prophets?
Muslims honor Jesus, Moses, Elijah, Muhammad ﷺ, and all of God’s Prophets (peace be upon them all).
We do not believe that a Prophet is God simply because he experienced a particular miracle.
The question is: Who did Jesus himself say he was—and who did he say he worshipped?
