وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لِلُقْمَانَ مَا بَلَغَ بِكَ مَا نَرَى يُرِيدُونَ الْفَضْلَ. فَقَالَ لُقْمَانُ صِدْقُ الْحَدِيثِ وَأَدَاءُ الأَمَانَةِ وَتَرْكُ مَا لاَ يَعْنِينِي
Malik related to me that he heard that someone said to Luqman: “What has brought you to such high rank what we see?” Luqman said: “Truthful speech, fulfilling the trust, and leaving what does not concern me.”
لقمان حکیم سے کسی نے دریافت کیا کہ آپ کو اس قدر فضیلت اور بلند مرتبہ کن باتوں کی وجہ سے حاصل ہوا؟ لقمان نے کہا کہ سچ بولنے، امانت ادا کرنے اور غیر متعلقہ امور کے ترک کرنے کی وجہ سے۔
