Bible - Job 22:2

הַסְכֶּן־נָא עִמּוֹ וּשְׁלם בָּהֶם תְּבוֹאַתְ טוֹבָה
haš'Ken-nä iMô ûsh'lm Bähem T'vôat'khä †ôväh
"Submit to God and be at Peace with him ..."

the translation of this in Arabic is "Aslim lellah" (i.e Be a Muslim )

“Submit to God and be at Peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored ..." (Job 22:21-23)

The Arabic word "Islam" means Submission (to God), his commandments, laws and the perfect way of life that He prescribed for Humankind in a comprehensive system covering all aspects of human life.

The religion of Islam is not named after a person or a people, nor was it decided upon by later generations of man,nor it was a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) but only the true religion of God re-expressed in its final form.

Islam is the religion which was given to Adam, the first man and the first prophet of God, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by God to mankind. All of them called the people to submit to the Only true God and his commandments.


[Quran 3:19] "The Religion before Allah is Islam (Submission to His Will): Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account."
