Surah Ikhlas is a short surah with a very powerful message, it proclaims the Oneness (Tawhid) and Absolute nature of Divine Essence. Increase in the recitation of this Surah is a means of attaining the love of Allah and entering paradise. It is a means of forgiveness of sins, eradicating poverty and is a cure for many ailments. The constant recitation of this Surah increases the presence of the angels at the time of death. Whoever recites this Surah on the graves of believing men\women earns great rewards. Reciting this Surah has the merit equal to reciting one-third of the Qur'an. One-third of the Qur'an is dedicated to explaining the belief in the Oneness of Allah and His attributes. Because this Surah is so beautifully and concisely sums up these beliefs in four simple verses, it therefore contains within it the truth equivalent to one-third of the entire Qur'an. Reciting this Surah 3 times is like having recited the whole Qur'an once in its entirety.
Prophet PBUH said: “Whoever recites this Surah 10 times a day, Allah will build for him\her a house in Paradise.” [Bukhari]
A man said to the Prophet PBUH, “I really love this surah”. He PBUH replied, ‘And your love for it will enable you to enter paradise.” [Bukhari]
Prophet PBUH said, "Would any of you be unable to read a third of the Qur'an in one night?" People replied: "how could a person read a third of the Qur'an in one night?" He PBUH then said: "surah Ikhlas is equivalent to a third of the quran." [Bukhari]
Aaishah RA narrated, “Whenever Prophet PBUH went to bed, he used to recite surah Ikhlas, along with surah ‘Falaq’ and surah ‘An Nas’, and then blow on his palms and pass them over his face and those body parts that his hands could reach. And when he used to fall ill, he used to order me to do like that for him.” [Bukhari]
Each of the Qur'an’s surah are important but some of the surahs have special importance. Allah likes very much those who recite this Surah regularly. Prophet PBUH has encouraged Muslims to recite this Surah to purify our faith. Whoever recites this Surah in their obligatory prayers Allah grants them good in this world as well as in the next and forgives them, their parents and children
