Islam is the religion, and Muslims are the followers of this religion. In other words, The term “Islam” refers to the religion itself, while “Muslim” denotes an individual who follows the teachings and practices of Islam.
What Do Muslims Believe?
Belief in God,
Muslims believe in the one Creator of the Universe, referring to Him as “Allah”. Allah is the personal name of Almighty Creator. (Arab Christains and jew uses the same name for God now or even before.) Allah is 'al' 'ilah'. 'al' means " The" and 'ilah' means 'God'."Allah" is an Arabic word which literally means in English 'the God' and Muslims believe that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and they strive to submit themselves fully to His will.
Some non-Muslims mistakenly believe that Muslims worship a different God than the God of Moses and Abraham and Jesus peace be upon them. This is certainly not the case, since the Pure Monotheism of Islam calls all people to the worship of the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus ,Muhammad and all the other prophets, peace be upon them.
God describes Himself: Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,Allah to Whom the creatures turn for their needs. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him.” (Quran, 112:1-4)
So, Muslims believe in one, unique, incomparable God, Who has no son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped but Him alone. He is the true God, and every other deity is false. He has the most magnificent names and sublime perfect attributes. No one shares His divinity, nor His attributes. No one has the right to be invoked, supplicated, prayed to, or shown any act of worship, but God(Allah) alone. God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Sustainer of everything in the whole universe...
2)-Belief in the Prophets/Messengers
Allah sent prophets to every nation, calling them to worship and obey Allah Alone. One must believe in all of them, known or unknown, without rejecting any of them. Muslims believe all Prophets and Messengers of God ,From Adam to Muhammad Including Moses,Jesus Peace be upon Them.
Allah chose Prophets and Messengers in order to guide and bring people to Islam and to deliver His message to human beings. They form a link between the earthly beings and the heavens, in the sense that God has picked them to deliver His message to human beings. There are no other channels to receive divine communications. It is the system of communication between the Creator and the created. God does not send angels to every single individual, nor does He open the skies so people can climb up to receive the message. His way of communication is through human prophets who receive the message through angels..
The first Prophet sent by Allah was Prophet Adam Peace be upon Him and the last Prophet to be sent by Allah was Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon Him. He is known as the Seal of Prophethood since there will not be any Prophet after him.
The Messengers were worshippers of Allah whom Allah honoured with the position of Prophethood. Most of the Messengers were sent by Allah to a particular nation or people like Prophet Moses & Jesus Peace be upon Him were sent to land of isreal, but the Last Messenger, Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon Him was sent for the whole mankind.
Allah says in Quran"
, Say (O beloved Prophet Muhammad): O mankind! Surely I am the Messenger of Allah unto all of you...
(Surah Al-A'raf, 7:158).
3)-Belief in the Angels,
Muslims belive the existence of angels,.The angels are noble beings created by Allah from light (nur). They are constantly in the worship of Allah, and have been given various tasks such as coming with revelation, taking away souls, recording deeds, and much more. They do not sin, and have the ability to take various forms and accomplish difficult tasks. They are not to be described with masculinity or femininity.
4)-Belief in the Revealed Scriptures/Books,
Muslims believe that All the books and scriptures (suhuf) revealed to the various Prophets, in their original forms, are true. This includes the four primary books: Zabur, Tawrat, Injil/Bible, and the Noble Qur’an.they contained the truth from Allah but all previous scriptures other than the Quran have been altered and changed
Quran is the Final Revelation to humanity, and that no other scripture will be revealed after it everything in it is true, containing no falseness. It has remained unchanged, and will remain so for eternity and it has abrogated all previous scriptures before it.
5)-Belief in Life after Death and the Final Day of Judgment,
Muslims believe that ,A day will come when everything will come to an end, and Allah will raise the creation and judge them according to their deeds.this is called the Day of Judgement, there is resurrection/life after death, – and Paradise and Hellfire have been created .Those who believed and practically followed the correct religion by following the prophets will enter Paradise for eternity, and that those who disbelieved will enter the Hellfire for eternity.
6)- Belief in Divine Decree
Muslims believe that Allah’s Foreknowledge is all inclusive and complete. He has always known everything that would or would not happen, even before the creation of mankind.Allah has recorded everything that was going to occur until the Day of Judgment in a book known as “The Mother of the Books” or “The Preserved Tablet” and whatever Allah willed has occurred, is occurring, and will occur. Nothing occurs against or without this Will. Allah Most High has predetermined everything, and everything – be it good or evil – occurs by His Will. At the same time, we have free-will, and are accountable for our actions.
How to Embrace islam:
Reverting to Islam is always a big step. But Allah rewards such people by forgiving all their past sins and other great benefit is that a Muslim is promised by God the reward of eternal Paradise (Heaven).
Embracing islam is very easy and simple process .Anyone can do it even if he or she is all alone in the desert or in a locked room ( beauties of Islam is the fact that in this religion there are no intermediaries in the relationship between a person and his Lord (Allah).
All that a person has to do is to say a sentence called the Testimony of Faith (Shahada), which is pronounced as:
“ASH-HA-DU ANA-LA ELA-HA ILLA-ALLAH WA ASH-HADU ANNA MOHAMMADAN RASUL-ALLAH".
These Arabic words mean, “I testify that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and I testify that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His Messenger ”
.
Once a person says the Testimony of Faith (Shahada) with conviction and understanding its meaning, then he/she has become a Muslim.
Respected Brothers and Sisters: If you intend to embrace Islam ,then don't delay, today you have a chance to embrace Islam, tomorrow may be you don't have this chance because there are millions in their graves wishing to come back to this world & embrace Islam
Please utter above complete testimony orally either in private or in public; but rather, you should believe in it by heart with a firm conviction and unshakeable faith.
May Allah guide you towards islam.
