Don’t Allow Anyone to Teach Your Kids al-Faatihah Before You Do | Shaykh Sulayman Ar Ruhaylee
It is upon us to raise our children upon the remembrance of Allah. We must get our children accustomed to remembering Allah from a young age; it is upon us to get them accustomed to the remembrance of Allah. And I have mentioned to some of my beloved, over and over; it is upon us that we do not allow anyone to precede us in teaching our sons and daughters Soorah Al-Fatihah and the remembrance of Allah the Exalted. Why? Because if we teach them Soorah Al-Fatihah then each time they recite Soorah Al-Fatihah, Allah will write down for us their reward. And if we teach them the remembrance of Allah; then each time they say ‘SubhanaAllah’; Allah will write down for us their reward. We may be dead and buried in our graves and our reward will continue to flow due to the remembrance of our children; because we are the ones who taught them to remember Allah the Exalted. Unfortunately, many of the people today teach their children things which will not benefit them such as comedy and entertainment, and the like. Rather some of the people are diligent in having their children memorize things which will not benefit them. But they are not diligent in having them memorize Al-Faatihah and remembrance of Allah which will benefit them, nor are they diligent in cultivating them upon remembrance of Allah the Exalted.
