*Hadith 173*

The narration: "There will come upon people a time when one of you raising a puppy dog will be better for him than raising a child from his own loins" contains news about the trials of this world and signs that have not yet occurred.

« From Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him:

From the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, he said:

"There will come upon people a time when one of you raising a puppy dog will be better for him than raising a child from his own loins."

*Explanation of the Hadith:*

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, tells us through the noble companion Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him: "There will come upon people a time." This will come upon all the people of this Islamic nation at the end of time, among the signs that have not yet occurred.

"One of you raising a puppy dog" means that you have a dog that you care for, just as you care for sheep, goats, and other livestock that recognize your favor and recognize the effort of raising them. The dog was specifically mentioned because it is one of the animals most known for loyalty and for appreciating its owners, as mentioned in the Qur’an in Surat Al-Kahf, where it is the animal most faithful to its companions and does not deny their favor.

"Will be better for him than raising a child from his own loins" means it is better for a person who fails in raising his children than to have a child who is disobedient to him and causes his family harm in their lives. It is like the story of Musa, peace be upon him, with Al-Khidr when he killed the boy, fearing that he would cause his parents to suffer oppression and disbelief. That was a profound wisdom from Allah, glory be to Him, the Most High.

The intended meaning of this hadith is the widespread disobedience to parents at the end of time, which will increase. This will be due to parents failing in the upbringing of their children. "One of you raising a puppy dog will be better for him than raising a child from his own loins" and failing in his upbringing, so that this child becomes disobedient to his parents at the end of time, among the signs that have not yet occurred.
