One of the historical miracles: “And you carve out in the mountains”
One of the Quranic miracles regarding historical science is that it talked about civilizations no one knew about during the time of the Quranic revelation. These civilizations, which were discovered recently, exactly match the description in Allah’s almighty book….
There is something the Quran mentions but no one knew about it during the period of the Quranic revelation which is the existence of the “Thamud” civilization which was corrupted, so Allah (SWT) destroyed it. This civilization was characterized by carving houses in mountains. This phenomenon was rare in the Arabian Peninsula. These buildings, that are thousands of years old, were discovered recently. The miracle in these pictures is that the Quran told us about this civilization with full accuracy; the people used to build palaces and carve out homes in the mountains to live in them. Allah almighty said: “And to Thamud( people, We sent) their brother Salih. He said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other God but him. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. Indeed there has come to you a clear sign from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah is a sign unto you; so you leave her to graze in Allah’s earth, and touch her not with harm, lest a painful torment should seize you* And remember when He made you successors after Ad (people) and gave you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth” [Al-Araf:73-74].
