When speaking about the resurrection, Allah ﷻ does not merely tell us that He can recreate our bones.
He draws attention to something remarkably precise:
«“Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? Yes indeed! We are able to perfectly restore even his fingertips.”
Qur’an 75:3–4»
The fingertips may seem like a small and insignificant detail—but they carry highly distinctive patterns used to identify individuals.
The scientific study and practical use of fingerprints for personal identification developed in the 19th century, more than a thousand years after the Qur’an was revealed.
The point of the verse, however, is even greater than fingerprints.
Allah is declaring that the One who created you in the first place is fully capable of recreating you down to the smallest detail.
What humanity may overlook, Allah does not overlook.
“Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.”
Qur’an 2:20
