Truthfulness & credibility is one of the best morals a person can have. It builds honesty, loyalty and trust

Be honest and do not be with liars, even if it is against yourselves!

Allah says in the Quran:

“Allah will declare, “This is the Day when ˹only˺ the faithful will benefit from their faithfulness. Theirs are Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there for ever and ever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. That is the ultimate triumph.” (Quran, 5:119)

And alao He SWT says:

“O believers! Be mindful of Allah and be with the truthful.” (Quran, 9:119)

Allah Almighty also says:

“And those who believe and do good, We will soon admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there for ever and ever. Allah’s promise is ˹always˺ true. And whose word is more truthful than Allah’s?” (Quran, 4:122)

Abdullah reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

"You must be truthful. Truthfulness leads to dutifulness and dutifulness leads to the Garden. A man continues to tell the truth until he is written as a siddiq with Allah. Beware of lying. Lying leads to deviance and deviance leads to the Fire. A man continues to lie until he is written as a liar with Allah." (Sahih Al-Albani)

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) also said "Say the truth even though it is bitter (i.e. difficult to admit)."

[Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic) as a part of a long Hadith].
