"And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators." (Surah Al-Mu’minun: 12-14)
The sperm-drop: The initial stage where life begins as a drop of sperm settles in the womb.
The clinging clot: A small entity resembling a clot of blood that clings to the uterine wall.
The lump of flesh: A small piece of flesh that resembles a chewed-like structure.
Bones and flesh: The skeletal structure forms and is later covered with flesh.
Another creation: The fetus develops into a fully formed human by Allah’s will.
"When forty-two nights have passed over the sperm-drop, Allah sends an angel to it, who shapes it and creates its hearing, vision, skin, flesh, and bones."
